Romo interview

Really, T-RO? Do you guys even think before you start posting that you want Tony back? Do y'all seriously believe Tony could last 1 game of playing behind this porous Oline and getting sacked 4+ times? Is your dislike of Dak that severe that y'all can't think straight?

Yes, I know I'm being a bit extreme, but my point is that Tony wouldn't last and would not only hurt the team but more importantly hurt himself physically and emotionally. This game is for the young, strong and able. The only way a very old QB would survive is if he has recent good health with a healthy health recent history, is not injury prone, has a good protection Oline, has receivers who can get open early and often, and an O-coordinator who calls quick release passing plays. None of these favor Tony.

For the record, I do like Tony, but he's retired for several obvious reasons. I'm here defending his health while respecting Dak.

Your goal w/your comments is to “protect Tony”? OK...I’ll take you at your word.

Anyway...football players know the sport will bring pain and injury with sometimes lifetime consequence. The vast majority say later in life that they wouldn’t redo it any differently had they to make the choice again.

Frankly...the *likely” only hope for the season, IMO, is something like Romo returning. It probably won’t happen, but I get joy just pondering it.

Keep it mind: I supported Dak and posted here in favor of keeping Dak the starter when Tony became healthy in ‘16. Dak’s just not the same guy now.

You get joy pondering Romo somehow coming back? No, it's more like you guys enjoy bashing Dak. Tony is not coming back to Dallas. I guarantee you he would never get hired to play again in Dallas. Tony is simply being Tony. He can't help himself verbally dreaming, but he knows he physically wouldn't last.

Yeah, he took that hit in 2012, prior to his back injuries. Look at this play from a Tony Romo heart video. This was in the 3rd quarter of the 2014 playoff game. Romo had a major back injury that was always going to cause him problems. He had to stand on flights to prevent his back from tightening up. The dudes back was shot.

Thankfully Romo was able to finish this game and attempt a comeback, but this throw down wasn't hard and look what occurred. He could barely get up. It is 7:35 into the video.

I've seen Romo get hit late and roughed so many times with no flag in his career. Lots of NFL refs must have made lots of making extra spending money from their officiating of our games or else they're selectively blind.

I agree. I don’t think any of the hits on Romo should be flags. I think the Hicks hit against Philly would be starting this year but I disagree with the rule. It would be flagged though. The rest of them would not have been.

His main injury occured when he was barely touched on his calf. It only lowered his sock. That was the injury that did Tony in.

What could a Romo and Dez with Zeke do for this offense?

Could they get us a lead our defense could hang on to then let Dak come in and close it out pounding the rock with Zeke?

Back to the future?

Romo never got the roughing calls in the first place. What makes you think he'd get them now? You can't tell me that refs call those fairly. Cam Newton, as much as l enjoy seeing him take a beating, was a victim of those no-calls 2 years ago. The NFL rules are a joke...
Lighten up, it was a joke.

Zeke damn near went for 2000 with current qb only problem is now the line has regressed the receivers aren’t the same and coaches scheme differently

Ok coaching staff your turn to adjust

Scheme change would help but Dak hasn't been a passing threat since defenses figured him out last year.

Interesting on 105.3 the fan he said physically that would be least of his worries about a comeback.

No he’s not coming back... well probably not..... well maybe if Jerry asks nicely.....

PLEASE TONY COME BACK!! Haha

We know you want us
You know we want ya
Tony got back
Like stitches on a ball

damn strait got couth

Tony come back.... we know you want us, you know we want ya

Well apparently I have been wrong in assuming Romo was done. The back issues didn't sound good at all, but he says that would be the least of his worries. Just haven't seen to many people with bad back issues suddenly not have them. But who knows.

Well bring him back then. If that solves the offensive issues, great! It may be a story book ending just like the beginning.

I don't think any of the hits Romo ever took that injured him should have been flagged, they were all clean hard hits, but as the poster you responded to pointed out Romo was often hit late, sometimes very late and he did not get those calls the way guys like Brady and Rodgers did, that is just a fact

lol.

Romo must say ‘Hey everyone! I am retired!’ before some people will accept that he will not return to the NFL. The Speech was a dream. Seeing him broadcast games for now years has been a mirage. Watching him on the golf courses (without the nonsense quacking he is ignoring football) was a hallucination.

He did not say anything wrong. Why is it some people want someone as intelligent as Romo to play the ‘Are you REALLY retired?’ game? The Speech DID happen. He IS a highly successful network sports analyst. He IS playing golf whenever he wants and loving it.

But that is not enough for some people. Fascinating. Some people are so willingly extreme. Cannot get past him leaving football. Cannot grasp basic physics. Do not own a clue about bone density, spinal trauma, anatomy, etc. Cannot get beyond self-omnipotence. Just the same old foolishness. “Romo should come back!” “Romo was almost paralyzed before!” “Romo would die now!” “Romo was the worst quarterback!” “Romo will compete with Prescott!” “Romo will replace the entire coaching staff!” “Am I omnipotent? No! I just THINK I am!!!!!”

Thank goodness for message boards.

thats the point he may become that again if the coaches mix things up.Scott Linehan is predictable and has been all the way back to when Romo was QB

What do you call breaking rubs and puncturing lungs? He missed 2 quarters. Is that an extended period?

Maybe you mean when he broke the transverse process spinal bones and missed a game?

Whew ya...every hit is the season. Not.
I was talking about the collarbone and back injuries that were his last 2 seasons. But thanks for coming out!

He hasnt been a passing threat until he got absolutely demolished by Atlanta last year and our coaching staff decided to keep doing what they were doing instead of leaving Chaz on an island.

I agree, just like I did with the poster I responded to.
