Romo interview

He may improve over time.

It was a huge risk putting him on a high profile spot like that immediately. Most guys cut their teeth calling Bengals vs Jets games and garbage like that. Not by doing nationally televised games.

I remember that Bonnie Berstein went off on twitter and said it was total crap when Romo got the number one job without experience. I guess that when he had success MNF just had to grab Witten - but Witten's stint sounds to have been a lot more typical with the usual growing pains.

Witten is always so stoic that I just didn't have him figured for an announcer anyway. He seems totally unsuited for the job.

I thought Witten was going to be a coach when he retired actually.

You’re right that Romo’s immediate success probably affected ESPN’s decision making. But man, I think it’s just rare for somebody with no experience and do as well as Romo has. I mean the skills that announcers use, are normally developed over years of doing TV or radio, and speaking in front of an audience.

I used to do some acting in plays. Nothing big. Just some local productions and something I did for fun, not as a career. But let me tell you that despite all of the hours of preparation and rehearsing that you do, the first time you get on stage in front of a full audience, it is a whole different ball game. I know he played football in front of the whole country plenty, but again, that’s utilizing completely different skill sets.

Imagine him playing with zeke. Imagine teams not being able to key on him. Zeke might go for 2k with a legit passing threat.
I did imagine it from April 28, 2016 - August 27, 2016. Then the 2016 season ended, or so we thought until a crappy QB named Dak Prescott saved the year and has received nothing but disrespect from a certain group of fans who probably enjoyed 2015 much more than 2016.

heck yeah, and one day if dak gets to remain starter and actually wins a playoff game we can all say, "see it was romo's fault".

Can't blame him. I don't think that's the way he wanted to end his career. With a terrible front office thinking some CFL player was better than him. To the day he retired his skills didn't decline. His body just couldn't hold up anymore.

Romo could show up on Sunday and play better than Prescott. No practice. No walkthrough. No introduction to the new players on offense. Nothing. I am not joking. Muscle memory alone makes him a better player. Suddenly windows will be seen and attacked with an arm good enough to make the throws.

He probably has established himself enough as a commentator to not worry about getting another opportunity once he reretire. Jerry, better yet Stephen should be on the phone right now, if there is a slither of hope he would suit up again.

OMG Stop. The guy is retired. He broke his back falling forward. Let it go already.

Interesting on 105.3 the fan he said physically that would be least of his worries about a comeback.

No he’s not coming back... well probably not..... well maybe if Jerry asks nicely.....

PLEASE TONY COME BACK!! Haha

That is sad to hear. I though Tony was a competitor. So he basically just quite because of the job? Oh well. He really let his Romo apologists down. I was hoping Romo would get out of this sad Dallas franchise and win the SB that he could have for a real team. He is better than all of the retreads that just signed with other teams.

Zeke damn near went for 2000 with current qb only problem is now the line has regressed the receivers aren’t the same and coaches scheme differently

Ok coaching staff your turn to adjust
