I agree. It's really both. It's actually a bunch of things, but you're right. He's made some bad reads and throws. WR's, TE's and RB have dropped some good ones. Our pass protection isn't what Prescott needs to be good. It's almost like he's shook, but I hate to assume that.

I was wondering how long before this came up. It's the perfect situation for the media to start spit ballin' about Romo because of the conditions he retired under.

I don't think we'll ever know who was in each QB's camp but Romo is certainly a better man than me if he's not sitting back and enjoying how this is unfolding.

I cannot wait until he does the Cowboys first game and see how much of that presnap chatter and playing the OC/QB he does. I do not think he has a problem with Dak but I do think he has one with certain people in the FO and coaching,

If I had been the HC or GM, in this case, I would have kept Dak in as the QB1 for the time being but made it clear, the job will be open for competition in 2017. I was neither a Romorooter or Lover but the man deserved the chance to compete to get his job back after carrying the team for so long.

I also wonder if Romo has taken a really good look at the OL and pass protection? That trusted ole buddy of his has followed in his footsteps and the Cowboys do not have his replacement.

To be clear, he reinjured a not fully healed injury, and played in 2 preseason games.

And this is not a great way to analyze things. You have to look at the circumstances of each case separately. Injuries in each were not odd occurrences.

I said it was technically ‘crossing the line’ and in another post, even if you are going to argue he engaged and Avril, couldn’t pull back, it was a pre-season game and Avril was clearly trying to hit hard.

And I even made a mistake in my original post. Avril wasn’t even engaged with Smith, he went around the outside of Doug Free and looped all the way around, meaning ran totally outside and came from behind and blind-sided Romo after he took off, meaning he basically was out of the play but kept coming.

Not sure what ‘playing hard’ has to do in the context of the rules that you can’t hit a sliding QB in the rules today.

Either case, none of that changes the fact the injury was textbook football trauma and would happen to anyone, meaning it was biomechanical and the standard healing time was 6 weeks without surgery.
This idea Romo was just chilling is a myth. He was sliding forward and Avril hit him and bent him forward.

I seriously don’t get it. He was a very good QB who had his ups and downs but he’s done. I wonder if there’s any other fan base that lives in the past as much as this one. I’m assuming because the team has sucked for 20+ years some people prefer to live in the past and fantasy world rather then face reality. It’s like playing the “if I won the lottery” game with your friends.

Do 49’ers fans still talk about “if Joe Montana” or Jets fans say “if Broadway Joe were still our QB, OC or HC...”

I am 51 years old and lived through Roger and Aikman and Peuller and Hogenboom and Danny White.

Roger was fun to watch and it was a great Cowboys era, , White's era was a dissapointment as a kid, Aikman was a robot but the team was great and we won Super Bowls, Romo was the only thing that has been enjoyable to watch as a Cowboy fan since the Super Bowls, plain and simple. Thats why he is loved so much! He was a great Qb and I will never put the blame on not winning Super Bowls on him.

I pointed to a fact the other day that in the 56 years that Favre, Brees, Rodgers and Steve Young played they won 4 total Super Bowls. All considered great QB's but that is a 7% chance of winning the Super Bowl and everything has to go right.

Should have drafted Aaron Rodgers in 2005 but Parcells wanted his geriatric QBs. Biggest mistake since letting Jimmy go.
