Romo is deceptively good

Adam_Schefter: All those Tony Romo bashers should note that on third downs last night - only third downs - Romo compiled a passer rating of 149.1.
Woooo Hoooo! See what I mean? Deceptively good, baby.

Romo has a good head on his shoulders and I think he has the right attitude toward the game. He showed his character when all the naysayers were blasting him and he kept on truckin.' I wish him the best and hope he can get some Superbowls under his belt before it's all said and done.

I also like what he said after the game. Talking about it was a big win but this team and himself still has a lot of work to do and mistakes to correct.

This will sound really stupid but, I was glad to see him take the sacks last night.

Nope, not at all. I was as well. A sack is better than a turnover every day of the week.

88.7 rating yesterday, but against a top-5 pass defense.

Something interesting I've noted about Romo's numbers:

First two games: 3 INTs, 1 sack.
Since: 2 INTs, 16 sacks.

It seems to me that he's taking more sacks than he's ever taken before but throwing fewer INTs. He may be conciously deciding to take a sack or two instead of taking risky throws. I suppose that's good, though it would be best for the O-Line to provide him with better protection.

Tony stuck with the gameplan all night which was to take what the Eagles gave them and take the shots if they were there. A younger Tony may have gotten impatient last night and start forcing things downfield.

Awesome win last night. You can't tell me that isn't one of the toughest places to play if you're a Dallas Cowboy.

I agree wholeheartedly. I could never understand why any Cowboys fan would want somebody else at QB (especially considering all of his accomplishments/records since 2006).

Aurprisingly his rating last night was only 88.7. I guess that is because hist TD% is identical to his int % (2.9%). The Yds per att was 9.0 and completion percentage was 61.8.
Romo is now 33-14 (70%) as a starter, but an even more impressive 17-6 (74%) on the road, which ties him with Tom Brady for the best road winning percentage since the merger in 1970, behind Joe Montana's 75%. He is also 9-0 on the road in primetime games.
