I read it. Romo still puts the responsibility and blame on the QB (Dak). He's right, but why didn't he say this when he was playing?
He was talking in the first person there if you can't quite understand and I would love for you to show me where he ever blamed an interception on another player! And please don't even say something about him saying they need to be on the same page because that is an obvious issue with about half of interceptions in the league!

5 pages in and people are still arguing about one part of a quote when the whole quote was a lot less devious and more just advice from someone who lived it

Many in 2022 were blamed on miscommunication, bad routes by the receivers or passes that were tipped into the hands of the defenders. But Romo said Prescott must own them all and address them, as all interceptions fall on quarterback.

He dealt with the same things during his career with the Cowboys where finished as the team’s all-time leading passer.

“That’s still falls on you,” Romo said, “But that’s why you play quarterback. It’s your job to overcome it, figure it out. But you evaluate every one, and then you go back in and put yourself in that situation, where you literally think about what you thought before the play, the situation, what was the score? What did I go into the game thinking? Was it something they did schematically? Or was it a physical error? If it’s a physical error, and that has come up two or three times now, you got to go to work on that part of your game to eliminate that and get better at that throw.

“Is it because I felt something emotionally like we have to score on this drive to come back? Or did I want to prove something? I mean, there’s all these things that go on. So you start to really just situational them and then go work it.”

At least I got you to do your own research even though it was after the fact.

If the New York Times needs a new editor you’d be quite qualified
Lol I'm not the only one who doesn't need to look up Romo not taking accountability for his gun slinging. We ll saw it his whole career.

What did you take from it?
It reinforced my opinion of Romo's weak leadership style..awe shucks in public....aloof in the Lockeroom!!

Dakota Prescott (as @America's Cowboy has PROVEN with video evidence) OWNS up to ALL his INTs, he's never thrown another player under the bus. But we know Facts don't stop the Dak Haters...It's NON-Football related issues!!

But did Tony have the same energy when asked about his poor performance on TV that required a CBS coup intervention team visit?

CBS did their homework before Greg Olsen could pull a DAK!! :lmao: :lmao:

Im a huge dak fan but he can say all he wants with a mic in his face, but when he's making the same bad throws over and over? So while he might say the right things with a m mic in his face his actions say otherwise. He's not owning up to it, he's just saying what he should be saying.

Romo just didn't care if he was throwing into double triple coverage cause he thought he could make every throw. Remember the gb game threw it late to Austin on the cross and mathews just snatched it and that was game. He was wreckless and he didn't care, had that favre mentality.

Dak took full responsibility on the 49ers playoff loss and his 2 interceptions 100%!

Now find me any video clips of Romo doing the same...

True. Each QB still wasn't near good enuff. Its semantics if a QB takes the blame in a loss. Its still a L. Less talk and apologizing from Dak & more winning in the clutch..ie playoffs. Anything less is white noise.

This is not a nuanced response in light of all the evidence post season (WR debacle, Joystick game plan and McCarthy Philosophy on tricycle wheels).
But Dak Hater aren't sophisticated enough to understand Prescott was playing with those conditions Realtime and still managed to lead a 12-5 Team....oops sorry did Cooper Rush Own up to his INTs...what difference is their preference in his post game delivery???

From the article:

Golly gee whiz! Tony Romo was waterboarded into answering questions! o_O

Gotta laugh sometimes at how the media communicates a story, lol. As far as the overall article is concerned, Romo used personal retrospection of both his entire playing and broadcasting career in his response.

Romo spoke of what he or any other quarterback should do to help their team achieve success. He was not blaming Dak Prescott. Perhaps it is advisable to read Romo’s comments while keeping in mind he was not attacking Prescott, because he was not.
The point I got from it is Romo's truth that all QB's get scrutiny other players don't get. Poor Dan Marino.

Dak is no exception. He doesn't get special protection from any of this. Romo got TORCHED because of it. When many times we were only in it in the first place because of him.

I wouldn't expect him to say anything else. Did YOU want him to blame someone else?

Some people might be tired of the lip service.

I will find you a video and you will say "but not THAT one" or some such BS. You deflect every single time you make these silly stupid demands.
I do believe that's the very first time Dak has taken individual blame. All the other press conferences he always says WE spreading the blame. The year before same crappy play against 49ers. And we can't say it's because the 49ers are great defensively because leading up to the 49era game a couple years ago we saw the Cardinals and Denver shut Dak down completely.

I was down on Romo at the end because the team couldn’t get anywhere but being honest, I think if Romo in his prime had last year’s or this current roster, they would get way further than Dak will take them.
