Romo keeps getting better

It's hard to say whether Romo is getting better as he gets healthier this season or if teams are focusing more and more on stopping Murray.

Murray has seen his yards per attempt decline every month since the beginning of the season. This is a troubling realization, except that when you look at Romo's numbers they're clearly working inversely to Murray's.

Romo's QB rating by month
September - 98.7
October - 108.3
November - 113.9
December - 134.4

Could be in part by Dez getting more involved too, so it seems. Beasley been making some key catches, and has increased. Seems Witten has been catching more too.

Now has their run to pass ratio changed too. Murray's attempts may be less, but is that because Randle and Dunbar been in more too lately.

All I know, they they won the past 2 games, and need to keep that up for the next 2 games.
Well next 5 games if we can get a bye. :D

He's getting more healthy. That along with his experience is letting him reach his peak this year and the next few.

I am liking your math, perhaps you can tutor some in here on your delivery??? :D

Romo did say we'd see the best version of him and most people laughed it off.

I think the run/pass ratio has been generally hanging around 50/50. I think teams here lately have been loading up more to stop the run and as a result, the passing game has been able to open up more. The nice part is that our offense seems to be in a true position of being able to make opposing defenses "pick their poison". We just need to continue to be poisonous in both rushing and passing.

IMO......Romo has always been this great.

He's finally got a supporting cast and that's huge. (Play caller and HC with a vision included)

This line is better than the '07 line, hands down.

I see him becoming more mature, making better decisions and being careful not to throw interceptions. During the games when Romo holds onto the ball too long and gets stacked, I hear fans yelling, "He should have thrown the ball." But that's what he did during his undisciplined days, which usually led to a turnover.

I remember Bill Parcells saying that a sack and a throw away can be positive plays.

I see Romo doing this, and I like what I see. And I believe Romo will be a very, very dangerous quarterback in the post season, assuming we get there. I think he knows he doesn't have much time left in his career and doesn't want to squander this opportunity. And now that the offense is no longer all on his shoulders, he's an even more dangerous quarterback.

If we get to the playoffs, I just have this feeling Romo is going to play lights out. I have the Cowboys and the Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. :)

past 2 games he has gone 43 of 57 for 6 TD and 0 ints I would say the man is on fire. Him and Dez have taken it to the next level

Sounds like a nice problem for us to have, and not so much for the opponents. :)

I would say that those of us who for 5-6 years have been consistent that Romo does more with less (OL, running game, WRs) are starting to feel pretty secure in that opinion now that he has the tools we have asked for.

:)

And he was right. The problem that a lot of fans have with understanding that philosophy is that by taking the sack or throwing it away, we don't get to see what would have happened had he tried to make a play downfield. To me, that where stats come in. Look at his TD:INT ratio this year with relatively smart/safe play vs some past years where he tried to make something happen. Even then, my opinion is that he really didn't have a choice if the team was going to have a chance to get anywhere...kind of like "nothing to lose" by going for it.

I'm in the minority but I wish Parcells was with Romo for another season or two. I think we would have seen this Romo a lot sooner.

The dream of seeing Romo play in and win a Super Bowl is very much alive. I really want to see both happen this year.

I wouldn't read too much into it. There's not much of a pattern to Murray's ypa except that the Eagles shut him down, first on Thanksgiving (November) and again last week (December). In the other 3 of his last 5 games, he's been over 5 ypa. The only other team to keep him under 4 ypa was Seattle (October).
