Romo, McNabb, Eli Manning, Jason Cambell - Pro Bowl bound?

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Tony Romo looks to pass the Cowboys to victory
Everyone is gaga over the NFC East.

The Squibster is not even sure how to spell gaga, let alone get excited over the NFC East.

Let’s break it down and see where they are headed.

The Cowboys led by Tony Romo, who is not dating Jessica Simpson, will be tough as usual, but it is still Tony Romo. Can’t help but feel he is a bit limited on the upside.

Tony Romo has given up holding for field goals, if not breaking into Journey karaoke tributes, which may have helped him put last season’s playoff nightmare behind him. But he’s riding a wave of hype and hope that has Dallas fans wondering if he’s the next Troy Aikman or Clint Longley. source

Can’t see the Cowboys winning the big games with Romo. The fans like him and so do the ladies, but that does not win games.

The Eagles have stronger possibilities and not because of Donovan McNabb, but because of rock solid line play and Westbrook. Hey, they made Jeff Garcia look like he was back in his prime.

As for Donovan, he has to prove he is through with the injury cycle and take the Eagles to the Promised Land. Anything less and the fans will start to give up on him. One gets the feeling the management is about to give up on him.

Donovan McNabb is back from an ACL injury that forced him to miss six games, plus the playoffs. He seems to have gotten over the Eagles using their first pick of the 2007 draft on quarterback Kevin Kolb, but he won’t have Donte Stallworth getting open.

Eli Manning has got to be feeling pinched. One the one side is big brother with a Super Bowl ring and a lot more polish. On the other side is Philip Rivers, the other side of the draft day trade by the Giants to get Eli, and Rivers is showing more and more what he can do behind a great line and the top running back in LaDainian Tomlinson.

Questions of Manning’s ability to lead the Giants were amplified by former teammate Tiki Barber during the preseason. He still has trouble getting Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey to play catch with him during the offseason

Eli should improve this year, but he Giants just don’t appear to be heading anywhere but the middle of the pack.

Jason Campbell is a young exciting quarterback and that is what you say when a guy is, well, young and does a few things that look good. Until, Jason gets a little more experience, it is hard to say he can do the job. To top it off, Washington could use a few more horses.

After failing to milk another playoff run out of Mark Brunell, Commanders coach Joe Gibbs is finally starting a young quarterback in Jason Campbell, who showed improvement during his seven-game stint last season. He will benefit from Washington’s run-first, pass-second philosophy.

The rankings are in and it is Eagles 1st, Cowboys 2nd, Giants 3rd, and Commanders 4th.

McNabb probably has the best shot at the Pro Bowl, but all 4 quarterbacks are capable of getting red hot!

Sans Eli, I think all of the NFCE teams are solid at QB. Campbell looked very good in his pre-season finale, McNabb is McNabb. Criticize all you want but the guy has been the class of the NFCE Qbs for quite some time.

Well, Campbell is young, but can anyone tell me why is he 'exciting'?

I was wondering the same thing? Because they really want to win and a good QB would really help Washington? Because he was taken in round 1?

Really the only reason for excitement over Jason in DC that I can see... is that he isn't Mark Brunell.

While that's true, the kid has been pretty solid in his pre-season performances. Not that he's setting the world on fire or anything, but in his finale he was 5-5 and a TD. Proving, to an extent that his previous performances were no fluke. Now, when the real bullets start flying is when we'll truly see what the kid is made of, but I don't blame Skins fans for being excited about him. Romo (or any other Cowboys QB), with the same type of pre-season would have some people in here creaming their collective jeans.

BTW, not being Mark Brunell is enough to get ANY Skins fan excited.

I would expect him to look good in his last preseason game. The defenses are very simplified in the last preseason game. Just look what Moore did.

Campbell playing in the regular season against defenses designed to confuse him might be a different matter alltoghether, though.

McNabb has played at an MVP level at the beginning of each season

Gotta agree there.

What's funny is that when I hear people talk about the NFC, they say it's a tight division, but not because all the teams are good, they are just all above average.
