Romo has to feel the load taken off his shoulder with Murray emerging. JG has got be smart about using Felix when he comes back.

First five games of the season:
Felix: 4.0 ypc
DeMarco: 2.9 ypc

I'm very excited about Murray's potential and I thiink he should continue to start. But the fact is that a lot more has changed in our running game than just the guy carrying the ball, and it's impossible to say at this point how much of it is Murray vs. Fiammetta & Holland & changes in blocking scheme, etc. My guess is that the difference in performance between Felix and Murray will be a lot smaller than people seem to think.

Fiammetta has been invaluable, as has Holland. But those guys aren't going to transform Felix into a back capable of reeling off 600 yards at a 7-yards-per-carry clip over a four-game stretch.

A good RB really helps a mediocre OL. Its easier to run block then pass block. Also when you can run and pass the DL can't just tee off on the OL (that's when this OL struggles and Romo gets in trouble).

Balance is key. Every coach LOVES to have BALANCE.

Well said.

Felix has been in the league 4 years. That's so long in runningback years that other players in his draft class are already looking like they're past their prime (Chris Johnson). If Jones had special ability, he would have shown in by now. The best we can hope for Felix is that he turns into a decent Warrick Dunn/Kevin Faulk type of nickel back.

Agreed. You either have it or you don't. After 4 years, Felix is a great threat as a change of pace and unreliable as a starter. Doesn't matter the reasons why he hasn't panned out, or who he played against--fact is, he hasn't.

This is huge for tony. Takes the pressure off his back and definitely helps everyone on this team.

Felix was running behind a blocking scheme that didn't fit it's personel at all so to be fare to Felix he really never had a chance because of what Garrett wanted to do.

If Garrett sticks to more zone runs with Felix in the game than expect a lot more production from him down the stretch.

Felix is capable of still being a jaw dropper but you have to get him in some space and not cram him between the tackles behind a line that can't block in that scheme.

I expect Felix to be better when he returns. He has to be. He exceeded 4 yards per carry in just one game this season, his 100-yarder against Washington.

But my initial point still stands. He'll never come anywhere close to producing what Murray has shown he can do. Different ceilings.

It would be nice if you are right but I don't think you are. Felix doesn't have the vision or power Murray has shown. Felix will be best served doing what he has done. Spell or change of pace back. Giving Felix carries Murray should have won't help the team.

Im not saying to not give Murray the main bulk of carries.

There is more than enough carries for both of them.

People need to watch the Texans play. That is the ideal running situation IMO and what the Cowboys need to shoot for.

Felix doesn't have Murray's power but he is a lot more physical than people give him credit for.

You also don't make some of the plays Felix Jones has made in this league by having poor vision.

Murray is on another planet right now I do agree. But Felix Jones is still a heck of a player.

Don't hate on him just because we don't have any other skill players for fans to hate on right now.

I've never hated on Felix and I'm not now. I would just keep riding the hot horse. Same as if for some reason Kitna got in a game and put up more Tds than Romo.

Felix has definitely been at his best here when serving as the No. 2 runner. Only problem in the past was that as Marion Barber declined, our No. 2 was vastly proving superior to the No. 1 -- much like when Barber supplanted Julius.

With a truly dynamic runner ahead of him, hopefully it will indeed prove that the best of Felix is yet to come.

At the end of the 2010 season Felix Jones was about as good as it gets.

We haven't played at that level since 2010 and sure as heck haven't run blocked as well since the end of the 2010 season until yesterday.

Im confident that if Felix gets to run behind zone schemes that he will produce much better,

You wanna tell me this guy lacks vision and can't get through an arm tackle?

Nobody has said he sucks. He plays hard no question. Murray seems better at this point. Play your best players, that's how you win.

Demarco makes Tony better.

With no Demarco, or a run game, Tony then has to shoulder the load and when he tries to do too much, usually those dumb decisions happen.

Catch makes himself look worse every time he tries to post about DeMarco.

Hostile, I actually agree with him when it comes to Felix Jones.

I am just as ecstatic about Murray as anyone else, but I also realize that we have a special player in Jones. I think behind Fiammetta and a better blocking line, he is going to have a lot of success as well.

I also think we can see a lot of two running back situations where we can get them out in routes against linebackers who can't keep up with them.
