Not trying to upset anyone with the comments, but I just caught the clip of Romo warming up on ESPN, and man, his body composition has changed since he became the starter in 2006.

I obviously don't know how hard Romo trains and how good his diet is, but I don't think he understands that as you get older in the NFL, taking care of your body through exercise and diet becomes a higher priority.

Has anyone else noticed this? A more lighter and elusive Romo would help to hide the deficiencies with our offensive line.

ban him now, you are questioning the most elusive qb in the NFL ability to scramble???
. get out.

This thread isn't even worth a facepalm. Wow. :lmao2:
He brings up a good point. I mean, dude is still a top 5 QB imo but he HAS put on weight, unless my eyes are deceiving me.

It's just up for discussion, man. Nothing more. If you can't notice the weight differences in Romo since 06', then I don't know what to say. If you don't have anything worthwhile to say, then maybe you shouldn't respond at all.

The fact that the TC stated he doesn't know how hard Tony trains means this thread shouldn't even exist.

Just because I don't know how hard he trains, has nothing to do with the fact that HE HAS GAINED WEIGHT. So he's obviously doing something different. :banghead:

He was a lot skinnier in '06, but I don't think it's because he's gotten fat.

He's simply matured. He's filled out. All the working out caught up with him and he's built muscle. Plus, his face has aged a little bit. He looks more grizzled. It happens. Compare a 24 year old to their 30 year old selves and you'll see the same thing. Happens to everyone.

He got a little heavy a year or two ago. When Garrett told him to lose a few pounds, he complied. Not sure what he currently weighs, but based on the Skins game, I don't detect a loss of mobility.

its called ageing bro.

I don't think it was that, it was that he was "soft" in his lower body. He simply switched up his workout regimen to focus on more power in his legs.

Maybe so. I see a larger waist however. He has filled out, but I honestly don't see a lot of lean muscle mass on Romo. Everyone knows how hard Romo works on and off the football field, but something just isn't adding up with his weight gain.

In the America's game for the Saints that recently came out, they show Payton in his first year in Dallas when Quincy was the starter. They cut to a shot of the sidelines and in the background Romo is talking to Hutch. He looks skinny as hell.

Even comparing him then to 2006 when the OP is comparing him to, he changed a lot.

Has it occurred to you that maybe he's put on more muscle over the years?

It's called a flak jacket. Look at Romo without pads on and that "larger waist" goes away.

Aging doesn't always equal putting on bodyfat. Look at Brett Favre, he's usually gotten leaner as he's gotten older. I read somewhere he's on a strict diet that goes well with what he needs to do. He understands that as you get older, using every advantage for your body is necessary through diet and exercise, but mostly diet.

I honestly don't see much muscle, man. I see more body fat than muscle; I'm just bein' honest.
