Hoping to be half the man Tom Landry was.

I saw one of the responses at the bottom saying Garrett should be Coach of the Year. I think when outside expectation of the Cowboys including local media had Dallas finishing 8-8 or less this season that a case could be made of Garrett getting coach of the year. He has exceeded all expectations.

Great to see Romos comments and also his easing the Gatorade shower at end of game

this was back in June:
23) Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys

Give Garrett credit -- at least he's consistent! Three straight years now, the Cowboys have finished 8-8. And in each of those three years, the 'Boys entered the final game of the season with an opportunity to win the NFC East. Of course, the downside is that Dallas has not been able to pull out any of those Week 17 tilts. (In fairness, Tony Romo was injured for last year's title bout with Philadelphia.) Truth be told, Garrett might have to do his best work ever to get the Cowboys to 8-8 in 2014.

Once Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones gives Garrett a new contract when this season ends, he should pass Johnson early next season.
An indicator of a good coach is the ability to overcome past adversity. Garrett got the team to play .500 ball for several seasons UNTIL his coaching formula (plus injected player and assistant coaching talent) meshed. His team never regressed. The execution has blossomed. The consistency has improved. The Garrett Way has jumped a major hurdle. How far can his philosophy take the franchise? Let's find out.

I like Romo. I like Garrett. But don't ever compare him to Bill Parcells or I'll go all switchblades and hand grenades on ya.

Football Jesus tans. He doesn't burn.

Very good point. Well said.
Garrett managed to build a playoff team without regression. I never thought of it that way, but it's true.
Normally you have to start at the bottom before getting to the top, like the Commanders di.........oh wait!

I think BB wins it but Jason has certainly done a terrific job.

Or the guy in Houston.
