ADDISON, Texas – Throughout his Cowboys career, Tony Romo’s extracurricular offseason activities typically have involved – you’ll be shocked here – something competitive, whether it’s a little golf, basketball or soccer for exercise when he’s away from Valley Ranch.
“I tell my wife sometimes, ‘As long as I'm able to compete on a daily basis with something, I sleep well at night.’ I thrive on that,” Romo said Thursday night from Fashion’s First Down, a charity fashion show featuring the Dallas Cowboys Women’s Association and chaired by his wife Candice. “I think that's partly why I've been able to grow and continue to get better as a player.”
Now 35 with a surgically-repaired back, Romo has scaled back those hobbies. But he’s also having his best Cowboys offseason in three years because, well, it’s the first traditional offseason he’s been able to have in three years.
Basically limited only to mental reps following consecutive back procedures in 2013 and 2014, Romo has participated in all six organized team activities (OTAs) over the last two weeks. His on-field presence in the spring is a great benefit to the offense and to him, even though he’s the definition of a football veteran – July will mark his 13th training camp with the Cowboys.

Pete Carroll was saying the other day how important he thinks it is for athletes to keep that competitive edge in any way possible--and how things like golf, bowling, basketball..and even horseshoes...are a good idea.

The best are often competitors away from football as well.

For some reason, there are people that don't get this. It's true though.

I fully agree with that. These guys love to compete no matter what it is. Staubach was one of the most fierce competitor no matter what game he was playing and still is today. Guys who play the charity flag football talk about how serious Roger takes this stuff.

No. Single malt better than blend. Whatever that means.

Smart ring... It should have also said "And stay away from the West Highlands unless you like licking Clint Eastwood's well-worn, unwashed saddle,".

Add that into the database.

Decoder rings have short terse but informing messages. Of all people I thought you would know this. I'm mildly disappointed.
