After three games the Cowboy offense is 21 out of 35 on 3rd downs-- Which is an incredible 60% conversion.

Think about that number for a moment, A 60% success rate converting 3rd downs.

That number is just flat-out sick.

And how many times does this offense face a 3rd & 10 (or more) because of the penalties AND Romo still converts it for the first? It happens so often that we've come to expect it.

I get the feeling that many Cowboy fans still do not appreciate what they have in this guy.

Yeah but he has fumble fingers and stares down his wr.

He cant be good.

It is pretty amazing. In the past if we faced 3rd and 20, etc. you would hope that they would run the ball just to pick up a few more yards so that when we punted, our defense had better field position. Now, you almost expect that 21 yard pass to Witten, Owens, Crayton or other.

Like I said before I don't mind putting up with some of his mistakes cause he just flat out actually gives a chance to win every time out and that I can live with.

Yeah, it's amazing how quickly Romo is becoming underrated. People gushed over a couple of really good, athletic plays by Aaron Rogers, and they seemed oblivious to Romo doing some of those same things. He's just kind of taken for granted.

With Bledsoe or Quincy 3rd and 5 was punting time.

We really take Romo for granted and the posters on this board who criticize him aren't Cowboys fans at all. They are pretending to be "unbiased", a "realist" or some other BfS.

Stupid post.

He's a great QB but he's done plenty worthy of criticism.

While Romo deserves much credit, I believe our success on 3rd down is due to Jason Garret calling plays. He puts all his players in position to succeed and Romo and Co do a good job executing.

Wow. It really doesn't feel like the rate is that high.

Bravo, Romo.

When Romo took over, our third down conversions went through the roof. And it had nothing to do with Garrett, who was coaching Joey Harrington down in Miami.

I respect that RJ deserves some credit in some instances - but Romo is the man that makes this machine go. That much was evident almost immediately.

When the QB drops back there are option of where the QB goes with the ball and Garrett can't do that, Romo is the one who makes the read and makes the decision of where to go with the ball.

Stupid post.

On all running plays on third down, we've converted 83 percent.

On pass plays when it's third-and-10 or less, we've converted 68 percent.

On third-and-11 or more, we're 1-for-7. Austin's TD catch is the only one we've converted.

For whatever reason, I always seem pretty confident when we are 3 and 15 or more.

We picked a great time to convert one of those then. Austin is the Packer Killer.:D

Perhaps you've given and that's what allows you to circumvent the language rules with no one doing anything about it? Or does giving bolster your status as an insufferable homer?

Wow, those first two numbers seem incredible. Do you know how that compares to the rest of the league?
