They wanted him to go to the arena league to hold for kicks, thinking that having to hold for the more narrow uprights would sharpen his game. Romo refused sighting his meteoric rise this year in the view of NFL execs who think he could be the next holding star in the NFL.

"Yes, it is true" said one unnamed source, "that Tony struggled some this year. Got his kicker's chops handed to him by Larry Allen, but he was a first year holder." "I really liked what I saw by year's end with his line calls and the quickness of getting those laces turned. I think by next year he could make the step into the top tier of holders. I would compare him to a guy like Scott Player." (Arizona Cardinals holder who totally transformed Neil Rackers this year, out of a job at the beginning of the year but will be at the Pro Bowl this year)

Romo said, "I guarantee you this, they will never get me off the field. All it took was one look and that settled it."



Forgive me this, but this is as legitimate in its intention as every Henson thread that Nors starts.

I doubt it since NFL teams can't assign a player to the Arena league to start with. Jerry may own the desparados but any player on that roster has to go through waviers. it is not a place where Jerry can store players or get training for the player.
