Romo should have a lot of zip on the ball when he returns

Losing Tony and Dez has had me down all week, and I still feel that way. Never have I been 2-0 and felt meh.

With that said, we tend to see older qbs start seasons strong and end seasons "off" because their arm is tired. We didn't see that with Tony last year and who knows if we would have this year, but missing 8 games is definitely going to keep his arm fresh. In no way is this a blessing in disguise thread cause I would do anything to have him on the field, wondering if you guys agree though.

I would be more concerned with timing. It wouldn't take long to get that back, not with Dez anyway, probably not TWill either. But if the younger guys, in Street, Butler, Whitehead, as they get used to Weeden, and are probably already familiar with each other anyway. And how they adjust to game plans differences between Weeden and Romo.
Romo's arm strength will be fine, yes.

However, that won't or shouldn't be an issue at all. As if we want to rely on defense to help get us through the next 7 games, they will be playing even better by the time Romo and Dez return. So they can help get through any adjustment period, if any is needed at all.

Good thing that Romo will be able to practice with the younger guys for 2 weeks before he is active. Hopefully that helps develop some timing though I do not know how many reps you give a guy that won't be playing.

Good point.
Maybe he practices on Wednesday's now for those 2 weeks, instead of Weeden, to get some of that timing down. Opposite of what they been doing.

I'm worried about his timing and the speed of the game when he returns. Hopefully we'll have a couple games cushion somewhere in the NFC to give him an opportunity to knock off the rust.

You think it sucks for the fans imagine Romo? 35 years old, best team he has been on, and in the 2nd game crunch! Sucks big time!

Wish we had an Orton or Kina now! All those years we had good backups with high salaries and barely needed them! Then we went cheap and about to find out if we shot ourselves in the foot!

How about muscle atrophy. His upper body will be weaker from non use for 2 1/2 months.

It's much tougher on the veteran players like Romo who understand how difficult it is each season to even make it to the playoffs. After last season's devastating loss @ GB and now this. He knows time is running out. ..

I know Romo knows each year now the playoff run is so important because there are not many left !!!

Im not too worried about rust. Last year he was rusty vs SF week 1 and then arguably the best qb in the NFL the remainder of the season

Honestly this is a nice way of looking on the bright side of things.

My only concern is that it would take him 2 or 3 games for him to get to his best, which we wont have to spare
