all week long on Pardon the Interuption, on that show with Woody paige and Metrosexual, and on most other shows all we heard was "Dallas is done. Write it down" from the majority. now they all are jumping on his bandwagon.

I hope he just keeps playing hard and realizing he's a Kurt Warner.. he's a Tom Brady. A guy that had to sit around and wait for a chance. He wasnt annointed as the savior of our team by any means untill recently. If you know what it feels like to sit by and watch, you better keep fighting and make sure your never THAT GUY again.

Well he certainly handled himself admirably last night but it will likely take a season's worth of games to get a fair analysis of him for better or worse. Certainly am rooting for him, it would be a tremendous steal to find a franchise quarterback off the street ( or in this case bench) and with all of next year's picks intact.

Oh, no doubt. No player makes a career out of one game.

I just liked the fact he played a fundamentally strong game. He didn't have one or two "lucky" plays that were stat padders. He just consistently drove the ball thanks to good decisions and solid throws. The lack of gimmicks give me hope that what we saw was less a mirage and more a smart, sound quarterback making plays.

I agree with what Dale is saying here. And what I also find encouraging is not only did he perform this way in this game, he also performed this way by and large in the preseason, including against first team defenses. Although enthusiasm is still tempered by the fact that it's only one game, I think the guy is slowly building up a body of work here that would more or less indicate he's no fluke.

Everyone in the media had the hearses out for the Cowboys, after the loss to the G-Men last week did anyone hear Shannon "The Horse" Sharpe making jokes about how Romo, will be in a body bag after the Panthers, beat them down and Jerome Bettis, on the Sunday Night crew on NBC saying that if the Cowboys, don't win this game against the Panthers then their outta the race in the division btw how's Ben, and the Steelers doing "Bus", we as Cowboys fans know more about our team's chances than those goons in the media.

Shannon Sharpe, think about it picture Mr. Ed.

It was actually his brother Sterling Sharpe and he looks like a possum.

It's Sterling who looks like a horse.
But I can't understand why anyone is getting bent out of shape because the Bus or Sharpe said that if the Cowboys lose, they may be out of it.

I kind of echoed those same sentiments. Losing to the Panthers assumed that Romo would be over his head.

But Romo wasn't so it's quite possible that this season has taken a turn for the better.

With the "hardest" road win already accomplished, at Washington and at Arizona look doable.

Realistically, we should be 6-3 heading towards a home game against Indianapolis. And if we have any sense on the coaching staff, we take a page out of the Chargers and Steelers game plan and blitz the mess out of Manning from different angles hoping that our corners hold up.

But I must admit Manning scares me. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

I apologize to those who have already read my earlie post on this subject, but this is the most satisfying part of this win for me:

I want to count all the Talking Heads who totally slammed us all week:

Eddie George on FSN Pro Football Weekly said Bill Parcells act was getting old. Said Dalls was a mediocre team. Hhhm, I wonder why he would say that.

NFL Sunday Countdown: They all picked against us (except the Playmaker, of course ... I can't wait for him to tell them all about it).

Sporting News: Said we would get blown out.

NFL Total Access - Rich Eisen & Marshall Faulk ... I hope they choke on those little smirks; the sniggling and giggling can hold off for another week.

I can count on 3 fingers the talking heads who cover us objectively. They have no clue about our team and they don't do any research.

I forgot about the PTI crew. I used to love them. But their bias against the Boys have completely turned me off. Can't wait to get home

Woody looks like a genius when hes sitting next to Bayless on "cold pizza."
You know what Tom, alot of media people are saying that Carolina, gave us that game last night.

It doesn't matter how we dominated a good defensive front who has one of the best pass rush units in the NFL, it doesn't matter how good our defense played, it doesn't matter how Tony, played it's how the Panthers, came out flat with a 14-0 lead in the first qrt.

Had this been the Gints, Bears, Colts, Patriots, or any other "media darling" team beating the Panthers, they way Dallas did then they will call that "dominating" the Panthers but scoring 35 unanswered pts that could've easily been 42 unanswered pts hadn't we gotten that fumble when we cut the lead to four before halftime and the Panthers, gave us that game yeah okay.

The media sounded like the Cowboys, had to ask permission from the Panthers, to move the ball down the field at will, the o-line asking the Panthers front four to take it easy on our young QB, because it's his first start, MB3, or JJ asking them not to tackle us in the back field that is utter bull**** we took what we want from the Panthers and that's the bottom line.

The media just can't stand it a team that they all love to hate beat one of their "good guy" teams.

Excuses, excuses nobody came to our defense when we fell "flat" against the Eagles, Jags, and the Gints and now all of the sudden the Giants, are a "great" team yeah sure.

Manning scares any defense so I expect the Cowboys/Colts game to be a shootout because they have no run defense to stop MB3, and JJ but I find it amazing how they analysied the win over the Panthers saying the they gave us that game yeah whatever.

Yeah Manning, and the recievers are a threat but their running game doesn't scare me and definitely not their defense.

the biggest idiots were Wilbon and bob ryan, especially bob ryan who i have noticed the last couple of years that he is huge Cowboys hater and said that we were done 100% and wilbon agreed with him.

The thing is, Romo has been carefully groomed. He isn't so much a "find" or a "steal" as much as a raw kid with some talent that Parcells has tried to mold into his idea of an NFL QB.

After Hutch and Henson, I doubt BP haters would ever admit to that, but it seems to be true in this case. Romo is a noticably different player today than he was when originally signed as an UDFA.

The only person that I heard that thought Romo & the Cowboys would play well was Jim Mora on NFL Network. He based what he thought based on what he had seen on the field, not flat out hate.

It's actually an abreviation for "Thompson", but thats ok. ;)

I agree with you on all counts. I just watched "around the horn" and two of the four "esperts" were selling the cowboys because the panthers played "sloppy" football. They of course cited nearly every play that the panthers f-ed up on that we couldn't have covered...i.e. they Smith drop and the Keyshawn drop. They even mentioned that it was sloppy of them to throw the INT and fumble the ball on the kick return. Apparently, we had nothing to do with those plays...well we wouldn't have been able to do anything to keep Key from making a big play if he had caught that one ball, but otherwise...
