He neglected to mention they would be practicing their swings, not football.

Good to hear about Tony doing this though.

Well your book is a crappy read then. There is NO way Romo is even near #8 or #12 NO WAY

Yes, way. Romo is the new Captain Comeback. To me, that's the true test of a great QB. If the score is close, he has always given the team the chance to win. Problem is, he can't play defense.

This clearly contradicts the report cowboyjoe gave a couple days ago. I don't believe a word of it. Somewhere out there, Romo is still playing putt-putt.

Just like every other QB is measured SHOW ME THE RINGS? Until then this Romo is as good as Staubach or Aikman talk is just that talk, and thats the way I see it in my book......SO NO WAY get back to me when you got the proof

In my book Romo's in the same class as Staubach and Aikman.

Now, I have a problem with this, why? Romo is now taking charge, why not a month ago. There were by reports 4-5 teams already getting together with arranged veteran workouts.

Yet, Romo is out playing golf.

Let me ask you this question. What is more important to Romo? Golf or Dallas Cowboys Football? Isnt Romo suppose to be the leader of this team yet, romo plans to arrange things, not now, but next month. This way, if Romo had gotten the players together, when they all met with Jason Garrett as the charity event, Romo could have told Jason Garrett Head Coach, some players werent in shape and ready like they should have been. But, NO! Romo has to wait till next month.

Let me ask you another question. What if this judge removes the lockout which I expect her to do, and have players go back to teams for OTA's, mini camp etc... Then, Romo basically has done nothing, but go out and play golf and have a good ole time. That to me is not the leader that the Dallas Cowboys QB is suppose to be.

Exactly, show me the rings, the championship wins in the NFC too.

We only have one win by Romo in the Playoffs, yet he is out playing golf, having a good ole time. I question that big time! :banghead:

I could understand Romo playing in one golf event, but best to my knowledge, Romo qualified for 2 golf events. Two! Yet, no organized Dallas Cowboys training, but next month, not now, or next week, so you could get a gage on players, but next month. Now, Romo knows in February, March and April is when you get all the hard work in, yet Romo is out playing Golf,, I question that big time!

OTA's don't begin until after the draft so he's ahead of the game.

The indication in the story is that groups of players have already been getting together to work out. The idea here is that Romo (and others) are trying to pull the whole team together for something more akin to OTAs.

I think you're jumping to the wrong conclusions here, Joe. The players have tried not to talk up what they are doing, so don't assume they are doing nothing.

Romo's not the Cowboys' greatest QB....but he is a very good one.

I'll never understand why so many people dislike the guy. I'm not saying guys on this thread don't like him. But there just seems to be some venom being spewed at him.

What do we expect him to do? Should he have the team working the entire offseason? Are Manning and Brady doing this? Is Brees? Shoot, is Vick?

Romo's getting the team together. That's a good thing...yet, people are on here asking why it didn't happen sooner. They're asking why he's golfing.

Name one NFL QB, past or present, that never did anything other than football in their offseason....one....Brady's played in golf tourneys, so did Dilfer, Manning's a member at Augusta National. Why single Romo out?

Cowboy fans and other fans seem to just hate Romo. I just can't understand why. What exactly has he done to earn this? He went undrafted, worked his butt off to become the starter, he's broken numerous Cowboy records, he led the Cowboy team to it's first playoff win since 1996 last year.

I know many will cite his lack of leadership....well, this is what he's doing!

Way to go Romo! Continue to take charge!

He's clearly not allowed to have a life outside of football. That's the price you pay for being Tony Romo. Until he quits golf and wins 10 superbowls, he'll continue to be scrutinized.

Romo's biggest supporters are Staubach and Aikman. I trust their judgement. Those who've replied negatively, just like to hate it seems.

That could be true, but the way the document stated, romo is finally going to get things going next month.

Cowboys players do get together in March and April, best I remember under the coaching staff. With no cba they couldnt do that this year though.

Thats what I am questioning.

The hard work is always put in February, (if you remember Jay Ratliff was in weight room like 2 weeks after january, ready to go) March and April conditioning wise and seeing about new planned formations by coaching staff. That was all missed this time with the no CBA and lockout in March and April.

If you remember the Cowboys players all said they regret what happened last year, had bad taste in their mouth and promised to rectify things. Yet, our leader it seems like is playing golf more than Dallas Cowboys organized football.
However, wont be the first time I have been wrong or the last.

I just have a problem when some other teams have been getting together with their leaders and Romo is just going to do that next month.

Was Romo even fully healed by February?
