Romo - The '06 Version of Delhomme

Yes, I said it. In '03, no one knew how Delhomme was going to play, but people around the league ('Boys inc.) were very intrigued by this guy. Well, we all no for sure that one head coach besides Parcells seems to think highly of Romo (Payton). Could he turn out to be the same kind of player? They seem eerily similar (gunslinger mentality, will force things sometimes, etc..). Chime in folks.

Delhomme forces things a lot. Steve Smith bails him out a lot.

Romo has comparable WRs and 2 TEs that are better than anyone on Carolina's roster to help bail him out. Being able to check down to Witten is a huge difference maker that Delhomme doesn't have.

Actually, the comparison that Madden makes to the Snake is a pretty good one IMO. I had not thought about it but now that he mentions it, I see a great deal of simularities in those two.
