Tony Romo throws at practice

Quarterback Tony Romo threw at practice with his*teammates for the first time since suffering a fractured clavicle against the Giants Oct. 25. Romo just had shorts and a t-shirt on. He was not dressed for a full work out. But the fact that he was out there throwing is a positive sign.*Romo is still not expected to be ready for at least another two or three games. But his presence and his attitude give credence to the notion that Romo will try to get back on the field this season.

There really is no reason for him to come back this season other than for personal stats

Doubtful he re-injures it.

If Dallas was in the same position looking at the same crappy record with Romo, would there be reason for him to start?

If he wants to play, let him play.

Going into the offseason on a good note cannot hurt.

I can see your point but, if that injury is not 100% he can re-inure it very easily.

He could. And he'd have plenty of time to let it heal.

I'm not too worried about it. They aren't going to let a franchise player go out there without being sure he can take a hit.

I'd also imagine that Romo will be a little gun shy at first and will not hold the ball all that long.

I think it will work out.

Sure there is. If he's healthy he's the starting QB of this team. Should we got ahead and shut down all the other good players too?

something they can easily discern by looking at x-rays or maybe an MRI

Right, knock off the rust, test it out, get over the fear factor of being hit, sacked. Instead of waiting until next year to find out. However, I can see the other side too as to not take a chance. That is an injury that seems it has to be hit or land the "wrong" way. What are the chances of that.

I first said to let him sit if we are out of it, and want to see McGee. But, now thinking if he can play and they think that gives us the best chance of winnnig. Give some hope for next year, AND be able to knock the Eagles out of the playoffs, if it comes to that. Yes, let him play.

They won't let him back out there this season if he's at risk to reinjure.

I think he should play. If he breaks it again it will have 9 months to heal and maybe longer with a lockout. I'd personally like to see him get 2-3 games with Garrett as head coach.

What's the point? Other than selling a few more tickets.

Put him on IR.

Yep. Spears potentially could've come back, but they IR'ed him. Tony is no different.

I wish I could gat a handle on this "why bother playing Romo thinking".

All I can come up with are fans looking for us to get the highest pick possible.

The only difference between 3-13 and 8-8 for them is 10-15 draft slots. I've been there. And if we were truely bad, if we had a legit shot at #1 AND there was a super blue chip, once in a decade type franchise player........

Sure, go ahead and tank it.

But that's not the case. We'll be no worse than 4-12 and that's not getting us the top pick.

I say to hell with a top 5 pick. Lets go win some games and a little respect.

I don't see what the difference will be. It's going to be the same offense. JG has been Romo's head coach since he came to Dallas.

I'm glad to hear that he's throwing and progressing nicely. I'm an either or person on rather to have him play again this year or not. If he does, and he's fully healthy, I'm fine with it.

If they hold him out till next year...I'm ok with that as well.

I think that ship has long sailed. If it weren't for MN and Favre imploding we would have been the joke of the season. A few late season wins doesn't change that.

And I don't care about the draft pick (although its a nice perk), I care that Tony Romo is upright and 100% the next time we play a meaningful football game - which is next season.

Throw in the fact the O line is horrible and Kitna is actually playing OK, I just don't see the point of exposing him to injury. With the way this defense is playing Romo being in there doesn't guarantee anything anyway.

There is no difference whatsoever between 5-11 or 7-9, you're still a losing football team who had to can their coach mid-season.

Yeah, there is. He's a competitor, and he wants to play. It's that simple.

But Tony broke a bone, which is much different than muscle or ligament damage. It's not likely if he falls on it the same way, it will be injured again.

i also agree let him play if he is able to go.

i would agree with you on that, but my biggest fear is that he might re-injure his collarbone.
