I'm still not convinced Romo is cut out to be a broadcaster. He always tries to play it low-key and even keel which will not work in the booth. He will need to find a way to bring up the energy and have strong opinions.
I never in the history of ever would have expect Aikman to the lead Fox analyst based on his personality in interviews and commercials when he was playing.

He gets asked a question and answers it. Why do so many have an issue with that? You must not watch ESPN, NFLN, CBS, NBC or any other sports channels. There is nothing but opinions from all those including many who aren't nearly as qualified as Mr. Aikman.
Dan Lebatard brings up a good point when addressing this. People make the mistake of thinking all media members are reporters, when in fact most sports people on TV are paid for their opinion. Troy wasn't hired by Fox to be a reporter.

Troy Aikman: Two games a week will be tough for Tony Romo

https://sports.yahoo.com/troy-aikman-two-games-week-155814850.html

Cowboys quarterback-turned-No. 1 FOX commentator Troy Aikman thinks Cowboys quarterback-turned-No. 1 CBS commentator Tony Romo has his work cut out for him this season.

Aikman noted that CBS is putting Romo on both Sunday afternoon and Thursday night duty, and Aikman said for a beginning broadcaster, that’s a lot to ask.

Dallas Morning News. “He’s going to be doing a game Thursday night, turning around and doing a game on Sunday night. It takes me a full week to get ready for one game. To try to do two games when you’re just learning the business that’ll be challenging.”' data-reactid="20">“The real disadvantage that Tony’s going to have is that he has two games a week to start the season off,” Aikman said on Lance Armstrong’s podcast, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s going to be doing a game Thursday night, turning around and doing a game on Sunday night. It takes me a full week to get ready for one game. To try to do two games when you’re just learning the business that’ll be challenging.”

Aikman first worked as a broadcaster on NFL Europe games while he was still an active player, and when he started calling NFL games he was eased into it, first working lower-tier games and then working in a three-man booth before FOX eventually made Aikman and Joe Buck the top tandem. Romo is in a different situation, and Aikman thinks that will be difficult.

I assume Troy means regular season.

I suspect Romo is calling tonight's game in a practice session with Nantz....not live.
#1 at both networks EX-Cowboys -------Dallas really is America's TEAM !!!!!:starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin:

Give it a little more time :lmao2:
Still too busy battling an industry of nepotism that affects us all. My cause remains righteous and I'm going to see this to it's inevitable end.
I've already paid and have been branded and shamed, but you are not going to call me Kunta Kinte.

My name is Toby...
