I had some talks about Romo today. Broncos haven’t closed door but not pursuing. I’m told Romo believes it’s Texans or retirement for 2017.

loyalty needs to go both ways.
given this, i would say we dont release him until at least 3/4 of the way through training camp.

So you'd risk having Tony in the off season programs and make everything really awkward or better yet him having an injury and the Cowboys having to eat his $14 million paycheck??

tony does not have to participate in those- does he?
thought cowboys can tell him to stay off campus?

Loyalty? How on Earth is that disloyal?

He is under contract, if he wants to participate he can and if that happens I think he will.

Meh. It's silly season. We're heading into league meetings and then the draft. Deal with Romo after both of those are over if there's not a deal done. No rush at all right now.

If only one team really wants Romo anyway, there really isn't a market for him anyway. But I don't believe for a second only one team wants him.

DAL can get insurance for that and the injury has to be season ending to really worry about

If he twists an ankle it isn't a 42 week injury

Either way, it's a risk I don't think they'll take.
As you know the off season program starts in a couple of weeks and IMO, they don't want Tony in the building for that.

I believe Candace is trying to convince him retirement is his best option.
That wouldn't surprise me. I believe a certain percentage of wives are always concerned about the real potential hazards facing their husbands playing one of the world's most dangerous sports. It's logical that some football wives privately try convincing their husbands of the benefits their mutual lives could enjoy outside the sport--even when their spouses haven't suffered significant injuries during some point in their careers. However, I'm interested in any comments Candice has made publicly about persuading Romo to end his playing career.

Stupid thread ........ Tony has done nothing wrong and has handled this situation with a lot more class than many fans including OP
