9 common games, Tony Romo is 6-3 vs Eli Manning

That doesn't take into account that Eli Manning has 1 rushing touchdown vs 0 for Romo, or that Manning has fumbled and lost the ball 4 times vs Romo's 1.

Romo faces a worse pass defense in New York than Eli does in Dallas.

Dallas has allowed 16 passing touchdowns, 7.3 yards per attempt, and has 35 sacks and 14 interceptions. 82.6 QB Rating

New York has allowed 20 passing touchdowns, 7.7 yards per attempt, and has 33 sacks and 15 interceptions. 85.6 QB Rating

In games where Miles Austin plays this year, Romo has a QB Rating of 100+ in 4/6 games.

another number that baffles me is

Romo---71
Eli ---88

thats the number of Ints they have since 2006 Romos first year, yet Eli is considered clutch and dependable and Romo is an Interception machine, and cant be trusted....

The other factor that probably goes overlooked is experience, despite being a baby face mommas boy, Eli Manning actually has A LOT more game experience than Romo.

Eli has started 115 games versus Romo' s 73. That being said Romo has a 63% win percentage where as Eli has a 57.3% win percentage...

Eli is 17 games above .500 and Romo is 19 games above .500 with less games to create the margin.

Romo career against NYG

5W5L 148 comp 232 att 63.8% 1878 yards 17 touchdowns 10 interceptions 95.4 rating

Manning career against Dallas

7W6L 259 comp 432 att 60.0% 3106 yards 26 touchdowns 17 interceptios 85.7 rating

NOTE: Romo gets credit for a 2010 loss against NYG despite leading before he got injured, and obviously Eli gets the win for that game.

If these two guys play identical, let alone Romo playing better than Eli... we should win this game. We have a much better running game, and we have a better defense.

That said we also lost to Arizona, so who knows what team will show up.

Since 2006 Eli actually had 98 INT's in 92 games (1.06 INT/game) vs Romo's 71 INT's in 73 games (.97 INT/game). Romo has also thrown 140 TD's in 73 games (1.9 TD/game) compared to Eli who has thrown 149 TD's in 98 games (1.5 TD/Game.

typo....i meant to write 98

Romo is the better QB....period.

It cracks me up when I just heard a Dallas Media guy say "You never know if Romo is going to come out and light them up or throw 4 INT's."

How many times has Romo thrown 4 INT's?

Didn't even Brady have a 4 INT game this year? Romo also has fewer INT's then Brady on the year...Fewer than Brees, Rivers, Manning, and Roethlisberger as well.

He's had ONE 3 INT game, ONE 2 INT game, 4 one INT games, and 6 games without an INT....yet these guys in the media still want to brand him a guy that is a constant INT thrower.

how about last year when he was healthy? How many of them were tipped. He's also had some of them tipped this year as well....which I don't consider an INT...especially when it hits you in your hands, like the one that MB had.

I really want one of those games like the Eagles threw at us earlier this season where we just come out guns blazing and go up a few scores.

With their secondary, I would think as long as we could protect Romo at ALL, we could start fast and really put pressure on them quickly. I'd rather not be sweating another close one. :D

I didn't need this thread to know that Romo craps all over Eli, but of course I love it anyways.

I'm beginning to conclude that Romophobia is a religion because it always disregards scientific proof.

But, but, but Eli has won the big one --- the SB. Actually of course the Giants' defense won that game but will give Eli credit for throwing a great pass to whoever was his receiver near end of game. Of course Romo has never had that kind of defense to help him out & his OL is a shambles. Let's face it. Until Romo and the rest of the team get their act together & adding a few more players finally win the SB, much of the media & fans of other teams will be negative towards him. And frankly the defense, ST & his OL hasn't done him many favors this year.

was it one or two plays before the helmet pass that Eli put the ball in Samuels hands and he dropped it?

I've watched every game Romo has played and a majority of Eli's games (I live in NJ). Romo is clearly the better QB. I don't think it is really that close. Until this season, Eli's numbers haven't been comparable to Romo's. Now that Eli has finally put up Romo-like numbers for once, he is being worshipped. If not for the biggest fluke in the history of pro sports (the Giants SB in '07), Eli wouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Romo. But since Crayton, Fasano and co. screwed Romo and the Boys in that '07 charity game, and the Pats DBs dropped multiple INTs (not to mention the miracle duck to Tyree), Eli is a "winner". He has lost in the 1st round of all of his other playoff appearances, and not looked good (he is not some playoff god). BUT, because of his TEAM'S accomplishment (mostly the D), he has that magical gift that guy's like Dilfer, Johnson, Williams, etc. have. IMO, Romo is one of the most underrated players in sports. He makes plays only a few can make and he consistenty plays at a a high level. His mistakes are magnified by the media, but the facts show that he is actually LESS mistake-prone than most QBs (Eli has led the ENTIRE NFL in turnovers multiple times). Romo has proven to be tough and extremely clutch. Eli has improved and is playing well this year but, overall, Romo is definitely better.

The 2007 Cowboys gave up less points per game than the 2007 Giants. Heck, the 2009 Cowboys gave up 6.3 fewer points per game than the 2007 Giants.

He threw at least THREE terrible passes on the drive. Two passes that should have been picked and a desperate duck into the middle of the field that a scrub miraculously caught on his helmet. Then he hits a wide open Plaxico and he's an MVP. Romo threw a couple of incredible, clutch passes in the 4th quarter against the Giants. But what happened? After avoiding the rush and moving to his left, he throws to his right and hits Crayton in stride to ice the game. Crayton drops it. It was a great, clutch, 3rd down throw. Very late in the 4th quarter he throws an incredible deep pass to Crayton who pulls up on the route and then watches the ball fall a couple of yards ahead of him for what would have been the game winner. Those were the kind of plays that are clutch, postseason highlight throws if the receiver does his job. Not to mention Fasano dropped a TD earlier in the game. It goes to show that QB needs the other guys to do their job. And luck helps, like when opposing DBs drop multiple INTs at critical moments.

That's because the mediots, like many fans, don't actually watch the games, just the highlights on SportsCenter and BSPN typically only shows Romo's INTs so that's all most people see and know of him.

But it's not just the fans. At times, Jason Garrett hasn't shown a lot of faith in Romo, either.
