Romo vs. Vick

ESPN just did a segment on which QB would you trust more at the end of the game. Ron Jaworski spoke for Vick and Merrill Hoge spoke for Romo. They had 3 minutes and during this time the public could vote for their favorite of the two. So this vote was worldwide , or at least as far as ESPNs broadcast stretches. And the winner is---

Vick 56%---Romo 44%

What does that say about Romo??? You decide for yourself.

you actually put cred on a BSPN poll?

Factor in all the anti romo BS that BSPN does all the time and the average IQ of anyone watching BSPN and this is no surprise

Also no surprise that this comes from another Romo hater

It tells me that not only Eagles fans were voting for Vick but fans of other teams as well. That's just the way it is when it comes to Tony Romo and the Cowboys in general. People love to hate them.

The only people who truly believe Vick is better than Romo are idiots and blind Eagles homers.

Ask Deion. That dude is a freaking Vick apologist it's unbelievable the excuses he makes every week for him. Everytime he says 'let Mike Vick do what he do and don't make him a pocket passer', I roll my eyes. He has been doing what he's been doing and when he does he turns the ball over. He blames the Eagles for not running the ball more and on and on as to why Vick is making mistakes. It's ridiculous listening to his excuses for Vick.

This is not an ESPN vote but a fan vote. ESPN was just the vehicle through which the worldwide fans could vote. No where did I say I hated Romo. Now what does that say about you?

It says that a narrative developed around Romo early on because he was a scrambler who made unorthodox plays in key moments - shovel passes, shot-put style tosses, etc. - that he was Brett Favre reborn. The truth, for anyone who was actually watching, was that he's much closer in style (if not overall competence) to Aaron Rodgers than Brett Favre. But the story was already written. You had a memorable moment in the Seahawks game that led to the "whoops" style storylines, and it overwhelmed the fact that he's actually among the most accurate, good decision-makers in the league in most scenarios, including end-of-game scenarios.

Once ESPN promotes a view (e.g. Suh is a dominant player, Tony Romo is a bad clutch player, Michael Vick is the best playmaker in the NFL), it's nearly impossible to keep it from infecting people's perspectives. Remember - most football fans voting in that poll watch two, three Cowboys games a year, max, beyond whatever highlights they might catch. This is not an example of the wisdom of crowds.

It doesn't say a damn thing about Romo.

It says that the majority of the people that follow Espn are morons. That should come as no surprise.

Boo, hoo, hoo. Somebody's bagging on poor Tony Romo, again. Somebody thinks another quarterback is better than our stat-amassing wonder. :laugh2:

I don't care. Neither do I get worked up over people's opinion. So what if people think Vick is better than Romo? So what if people here think Romo is better.

:laugh1: my thinking as well

Vick is an "exciting" player. Even with his faults I will take Romo over Vick every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Some will say I'm over rating Romo but I think he is the best QB in this division. I don't think he is in the Brees/Brady/Rodgers class, but I think he is in that class one step down from there.

I love the double standard, though. Rivers has a nightmarish season last year...not a peep. Romo has two off games and he's suddenly on football's skid row.

So you don't like talking about topics on which some people have one perspective and some people have another.

Out of curiosity, what purpose do you think a forum on the internet should serve?

I will never pick Vick over any QB. I can't separate the person from the player. Sorry but I can't and never will.

Is it a double standard that the Cowboys get the prime slots in the NFL national game rotation?

Is it a double standard when the Cowboys get twice the coverage of the San Diego Chargers?

Apparently, an Internet forum is for working one's self up into a frenzy because someone bad-mouths your beloved quarterback and thinks that another quarterback is better than he. :)

At least you're honest about it.

No, it's ratings....and not a valid argument in the consideration of how two players should be evaluated.

TV ratings have nothing to do with how a player should be evaluated by sports media...

Lmao...you think the people supporting the team and Romo are the ones that are worked up into a frenzy?

That's hilarious.
