Loved the game today. Romo showed heart and toughness, Austin flashed his 2009 form and the defense allowed 200 yards of offense with 6 sacks and 2 interceptions. Great all around, except for....

Our running game is atrocious. Absolutely putrid right now. They have to get that going. We can not expect Romo to make it through the season with this offensive line, if we can't get some kind of running game going. They have to take some of the heat off him and the running game is just not doing it.

Did we play our FB this game? Not sure if that would make a huge difference though.

We've played two great run defenses... Just saying, you can't expect to run it on everyone and win.

The offensive line. If you build it, it (the run game) will come.

Our run blocking is bad news bears bad. I'd throw the ball a ton too if I was calling the plays.

Yes. That "great" San Francisco 49ers defense. You can't expect to run on them.

Nice miss quote.

Very glaring weakness of ours right now, probably the most glaring. It's odd because the run O looked pretty good in preseason with the first team, but there's absolutely no space for the runners to go now. I hope they can figure it out quick.

I think can get it done. Win the big game that is.

Lesser QB's have.

But you know what, regardless of anything. That was a gutsy performance.

He locked in with #16 and won the fricken game.

Kudos to Austin 3:21

Running will get better as the season progress and as the OL gels.

You just don't go out and buy a running game, it takes work and patience.

Go look up when the niners D gave up their last 100 yard rusher. And that was before they added Bowman to an already stout front seven.

I'm not saying we don't need to run it better than we have, because we do, but this was a terrific run D.

Agreed. we need to figure out how to get the ti game going or it's going to be a long season.

San Fran has some very good run stopping D-linemen and LBs...They are much tougher up front than most people give them credit for.

Not to mention Felix was banged up early and used sparingly...I think we'll be fine in the running game this season.

Obvious is obvious!
We basically played last year's #3 and #6 ranked run defenses in our first two weeks.

When was the last time this team had a stable running game?

How can you get a running game going when they can't even do that blocking wise.

Granted, we can't abandon it, but we also can't expect our RB's to get too many yards per game when the line can't make a hole.

We also shouldn't be expecting a come from behind win with an o-line like this...nor can we keep expecting over 300 yards passing with a line like this. Seems that alot of how the guys played is in spite of this so-called o-line.

Like others say, the niners are great at stopping the run. If this keeps up against nobody defenses, then I'll be concerned.
