Seems like he always starts out slow, much like rest of the offense and tears everybody up in third quarter. If Romo and the gang could start hot, we could really put some hurting on our opponents.

I dont know that it is so much "slow" as it is "methodical"... premeditated... deliberate....

The trouble is that Patriots come out in their 3-wide with guns ablazin. We can't afford to fall behind them by a couple TD's or the game will be over. That's one game where we need to stay close up to the half.

We might be able to if we do what the Pats did to the Bengals. Mangle up their front seven till they are out of linebackers and defensive linemen and they have DBs playing DT. :D

Thanks for posting the stats. Wow, the difference between the halves is striking!

Very true.

The Pats are a better team right now.

I think we have our training wheels on... then as the game goes on we take them off....

The Pats havent had training wheels on for years now...

I think we are learning as we go. The team probably knows how good it is or atleast how good it could be.

Maybe we are taking it slow so we become more familiar and better with the "new" stuff.

The teams true greatness has not yet been realized.

I think with each passing game we get that much better... even if we lose to the Pats... I think we still grow and improve.

You know, I think the Cowboys have a shot at this game. While the Pats look scary, the Cowboys have a lot going to for them also. First and foremost is that the Pats aren't exactly young and the Cowboys offense pummel opposing defensive front seven over the course of a game. The Cowboys defense is starting to come together and while the Pats ended up dropping a lot of points on the Bengals, the Bengals did a pretty good job until they ran out of linebackers. (who the hell only has four active linebackers on game day?)

If I had to pick win or loss, I would have to pick the Pats right now. Although I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the Cowboys drubbed their defense in the second half the way they've done everyone else.

One thing I really cant do is look at a schedule and pick out the losses. I feel like we will win every time we play.

I kid you not.

I think the main reason I see us starting slowly is dropping too many passes at the start of the game and we tend to get more flags early in the game that kill drives. Cowboys need to execute better at the start of games because when we are executing we are very difficult to stop. According to Romo the Rams did some things in their coverage’s that they were not ready for and we made some adjustments once we did the game was over

Thats partially true... I dont know if I would call it the "main" reason though

I think if the players cleaned things up early in the game we would not be forced to punt the ball. I'm seeing too many 3rd downs in the 1st qrt where we drop the ball and end up in 4th and punting. I don't think Garrett is holding plays back only differance is in execution early compared to later in the game.

Agreed on needing to clean things up early.

Too many 3rd downs via drops or just not executing well on 1st and 2nd down.

Garrett and holding back? - well I dont know what he is thinking BUT... I would not be surprised(holding back a little early) if it was indeed true that he opens up the playbook as the game goes on(due to adjusting and seeing what the opposing team is trying to do)... seems logical to me...

I think certain adjustments are made but at least what I have been seeing is early drives stalling out because of poor execution ie passes being dropped and penalties. If you are not dropping passes then it is 1st down and the chains are moving and you can build momentum when you come out sloppy your killing drives and forced into 3 and out

So he's Philip Rivers in the first half and Tom Brady in the second.

One first-half TD pass? Wow.

Romo always seems to be less accurate in the first quarter too.

I started to notice this last year, and my girl and I call him a diesel engine now. He takes a while to get going--but when he does, he don't stop -- Look Out!
