You lose 1 beer and hour. One to Two hours later is the norm. So, 9 beers in two hours for an experienced drinker at the club....shoot, id drink 4 or 5 double vodka waters in that time at my club at happy hour....but, my wife would pick me up and my daughter would drive my truck home.

Thank you for being responsible, Ranching. Sadly, not many are like you. I don't drink, and in my younger years I used to tell my friends and family to call me if they needed a ride home, no matter what day or time and I would gladly pick them up. I'd much rather lose a few hours of sleep than lose someone I care about, or see another person lose someone they care about. Very few called. I recently extended that same offer to my niece (she's 23, about to graduate nursing school) and she's asked a few times if I could pick her up later that evening and I happily obliged. I even brought water snacks, and puke bags for the ride home, lol.

yip. Exactly. I grew up watching my Father do just that. That didnt mean he was bad , he wasnt, neither is Tony I imagine, but eventually the mask comes off because it cannot be managed any longer. Quick story, my Dad was so bad he'd ice down the tool box on the bed of his company truck with beer. The whole darn thing would have a case of beer in it. He couldn't work otherwise. Id sometimes go to work with him around age 12, on weekends and hed have me grab him a beer in between stops or service calls. I kid you not. He would have me pour it for him going down the highway. Thats a small sample size of what was normal to us growing up. Its a miracle he didnt hurt himself or another driver. God was watching us.

Another interesting angle that you might consider is just exactly what seeking help means.

Seeking help for a substance dependency problem, even for the average Joe, means putting it out there for some level of public consumption. Friends, coworkers family etc. There is personal risk involved. Makes it easy for addicts to lie to themselves about how they got this and they'll quit at such and such a time. It's sincere but delusional.

It's that much worse for a public figure. There is nothing easy or quick about it.

It usually takes some sort of rock bottom type of event that puts it out there and forces the issue. This is that for Romo.

Tiger Woods is a great example of having to hit that rock bottom and how difficult it can be to be helped. He's had to hit bottom more than once.

Time will tell on Romo.

So, I guess that Tony had had more than "Zero" drinks, contradicting what he reported to the arresting Officer.

People that abuse pills and alcohol Lie about it. To themselves, to their family, to their friends, to their employers, and to authorities.

Tony tried to self-medicate. But now, Tony has a Team of Doctors around him to help him get right.

I wish a full recovery for Tony and his family. As for his Mega-Millions job, IDGAF about that!

Not sure I’d say hammered. He was over the limit and shouldn’t have been driving. But I think of hammered as falling all over, slurring, not in control. Romo didn’t appear “hammered” to me. People definitely handle it differently. Some are fall down drunk after two drinks.

As far as him having a problem, I feel sorry that he is in that position. He retired because of the pain, his body couldn’t take it anymore. He got dependent on pain killers and apparently has moved on from them to alcohol. Hopefully he can find something that gives relief without the negatives.

Like I said....people react to it differently. My wife at .15 would have to be carried into the room. Most of the time, you would probably not notice much difference in my demeanor at that same level. Doesn't mean I am not impaired, but the visual would be MUCH different. Romo looked a bit out of it, but wasn't falling down drunk. How long did he stand on one foot in the video? Sober I would be lucky to do that for 10 seconds.
