..is really really good. I watched a few games of his from the 90's and I never would have thought footballs could squeeze into such tight breaks in coverage. Nobody today, none of these young guns, including bad boy Cutler, could throw the ball with as much velocity as he could in his day, the camera couldn't even capture it. It's a shame that most fans and analysts judge him by his recent seasons when he was surrounded by absolute garbage with only his love for the game keeping him playing.

The dude played with the likes of Young and Aikman, do you think either of those two could continue the level of play he has? The funny part is, that now with a supporting cast around him, he's 17-3 TD to INT, and will most likely be in the SB, AGAIN.

When you look up to a player the way Romo does him, you naturally take after him, and Romo plays like him well. He needs to let himself do what he wants to do and not people tell him to do.

P.S., A high five if you can guess who this "idol" is!

Favre is and always has been a monster.

I'm not at all surprised by his success this season, and frankly more people should've seen it coming. He knows the system, he has a solid supporting cast, and he's healthy. He was ballin' just 2 years ago in Green Bay with one of his best seasons ever, and he only fell off last season because of his injuries plus the unfamiliarity with the Jets' system.

Favre is not even human. Still kicking butt at 40. Love him or hate him, gotta give him props.

Favre is a top 10, some think top 5 all time, some even think best all time. I'll give him top 10 but his PO record(12-10) drops him down IMO. And yes, he'll rack up another PO loss in 2010;)

Yes Favre is doing outstanding work even at his age. BUT........Favre being Romo's football idol is a huge misconception . True, Romo did/does look up to the way Favre plays the game. But his true childhood football idol was JOHN ELWAY, NOT Brett Favre.

Tony Romo headed home for first start at Lambeau

Tony Romo headed home for first start at Lambeau

Associated Press

RVING, Texas (AP) -- Tony Romo grew up in Wisconsin rooting for Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. Yet, the Cowboys quarterback has been to Lambeau Field only twice in his life. The only time he went to watch the Packers play was as a teenager, when he and his father made the 150-mile trip from Burlington for a preseason game. Four years ago, Romo was in the game, then the No. 3 quarterback who was holding kicks for the Dallas Cowboys.
So going home this weekend as a two-time Pro Bowl quarterback to start a game at Lambeau Field, with family and friends in the stands, certainly has to be the fulfillment of a childhood dream. Right?
Well, not exactly.
"I don't think about the stadium like that, like well I wanted to play there. I probably dreamt about playing in the National Football League," Romo said Wednesday. "You have to understand I was also a Bronco fan, I liked John Elway. I liked Joe Montana. That wasn't the pinnacle.".....................................

There are many more articles I could reference but you get the point. Its really no big deal either way, as he DOES look up to Favre also. I remember hearing him say in an interview once the QB he most admired growing up was John Elway. Then he made a joke about how he had to say that in a hushed voice because he grew up in Wisconsin....

Jeff George would take issue about being able to throw faster ball. Jeff George just had monster arm, but then he had 10 cent brain.

And John Elway would have a problem about arm strength too. So Brett was good and always been good. But he was also prone to make bone headed decisions, which he has not made so far in the season. And actually he has been playing the best he ever played in a season so far. This including the SB season.

Favre has never had a problem with winning, making plays, and pulling magical **** out his ***.

He's a lot like McNabb, he chokes when it matters most. 1 blinkie in 20 years of being on competitive teams isn't that impressive when you break it down.

Hard to work your tail off all mini camp, training camp, preseason, 4 month brutal season, then watch your QB thow it away every January. Would hate to be an Eagles fan because Mr. Overrated is notorious for throwing the ball to the other team when it matters most. Favre is no different, he just won a ring - so he'll always get a pass. No matter how many seasons he throws away with dumb decisions.

...just hoping that Tony gets more of the 'other' Favre traits as well.

Romo may SAY his idol was John Elway, and I am sure Elway was one of them, but there is a reason that Favre is always mentioned w/Romo. Romo patterned his game, his gunslinger ad libbing mentality after Favre, it is obvious.

Romo even has a bit he does that is spot on Favre. It is very clear that Romo looked up to and studied Favre, even if he didn't "idolize" him.
