Romo's ints don't bother me...

heres why...

If you accept the fact that he is a gunslinger or as i like to call him a Natural Born Assassin, you won't get mad at him for those throws that make you say what were you thinking Romo?

He is the type of QB that is going to say to the Defense; I'm going deep, try and stop me. If they succeed he will rein in his gunslinger ways, but will still throw the ball down field if he sees an opportunity. He is just more careful about it. The thing he excels at is if he makes a mistake he is going to continue to go after the D, and that is why he throws for such a good TD/Per pass %.

He will always be a guy who's going to throw more INTs that some would like, but its a trade off of his assassin mentality.

He will continue to improve on his reads and recognition. He will also be a guy who frightens the opposing D because of his knack for making big plays. You knows its coming, they know its coming. There is no way to stop it, you just have to hope he has a off day and throws more picks than TDs.

Some might say he has not played as well the past 2 weeks. I say(i know) that he knows what he is doing. he is testing the D, and testing the waters. In 2 years when he is 29 he will be so good, he will be able to throw down field at will. Ill bet my house on it.

So no worries and enjoy him, because he is special.

many of his INTs bother me, only because they're preventable and into double/triple coverage... and some are a result of coaching (jason) who is too aggressive at times, especially todays INT.

i don't mind an INT into single coverage that is a great play but when you chuck it into double coverage without good ball placement that is on the QB.

make no mistake, if they happen in a big game, they can cost us (GB, NE) badly.

his underthrow (INTs or missed sure TDs) the past several weeks are something that needs correction too. sure we're spoiled with him, but this is a credit to his skills to what we expect. :)

If Romo is deep in our territory and he wants to work on something or take a chance... I dont have a problem with that.

We are still establishing our identity.

Taking chances and going deep are doing that for us.

Defenses are on notice. You cannot only gameplan us at the line and underneath.... you have to account for us deep also.

We are a multi-dimensional offense. You will have difficulty. Look at what my left hand is doing... then BAMM... hit them with the right.

Usually Romo's interceptions don't bother me (the Buffalo game doesn't count) for the reason you gave.

Except for today. For one reason.

He went deep, and it got picked off because it was underthrown. The same thing happened later in the game when he went deep to Witten. We were lucky it hit the DB in the back instead of an INT.

Last week the same thing happened when he went deep to Owens. The Skins picked it off. I'm just starting to see a very slight trend of Romo's true deep balls as of late, they're all just a little short and lacking some air underneath.

We really can't complain, we're freakin 10-1. That just is what set a tiny alarm off for me concerning his deep passes.

I wish Romo threw the ball earlier to TO.

You can argue it was underthrown (because it was) but TO had a step on the CB before the pump-fake. IMO he had the safety frozen by looking him off and could have delivered a strike to about the 5-yardline.

But hey, Romo had 7 total incompletions and at least 4 (off the top of my head, I knoew he was 3/7 at 1 point in the 1st) were in the 1st quarter.

He has been absolutely lights out in the 2nd half of games.

Romo had a bad/below average game today but it's alright, as long as He steps up in the Playoffs and against the pack.

Both you guys make great point... but I dont think its going to be a consistent long term problem..... knowing Romo.. he is working on it

AND..... we really need to cut them some slack... he and Owens are in their first year with Garrett.... this "thing of ours" gets better as season goes on.. and moreso next year

Well if you think about it, he actually simply had an average game. It was a very average, but efficient, game.

We get so used to him having lights out numbers that when he does have a game like today, we have to remind ourselves it's not bad/below average, it was simply average.

So he was a bus driver today. So what? He'll pull up in the Corvette next week.

For Romo or in general for all QBs?

I only agree if you are saying that in terms of Romo :p

Most QBs would take 75% completion rate w. 2 scores and 200 yards with a pick.

Not at all, we have no reason to think that.

INTs are part of the game, I don't expect Romo to be PERFECT every time.

No kidding. We have been spoiled with some of Romo's performances.

Romo believes in his arm too much, you can't consistantly throw into double and sometimes triple coverage...

He had TO open today... I re watched it many times.

He needed to either throw it sooner or deeper (when he actually did).

When he misses, it's usually because he underthrows someone. That leads to more interceptions on deep passes than the QB who overthrows people when he misses. However, it does give his wideout a chance to come back for it.

Henceforth known as: NBA

Brett Favre broke many records this year. Among those records if im not mistaken is the most interceptions by any quarterback. That gunslinger mentality will give Romo many many interceptions, however, it will also give him many touchdowns and big plays. If Romo was a safe predictable player who just went through the motions, this team would not be 10-1. Lets enjoy it and hope for the best.

Yes indeed he didn't put enough on that T.O. pass, I thought sure that was 6...

Even on his bad-snap / thrown into traffic int last week against the Commanders. TO was open. He just couldn't plant his feet to get enough on it and it was way short. If he sets his feet and gets some arm into it, he throws a TD pass off of a bad snap. We would have been seeing that in highlights for weeks.

At least TO has been getting amazing separation. The TDs will continue to rain down for him.

The guy has been virtually uncoverable in the past 4 or 5 games.

Most of Romo's INt's come when he is trying to finesse the ball to the WR rather than zipping it in there. He will just float a ball in there every now and then. Sometimes they are perfect and others they end up short.
