Where or how did this originate? Was BP or JJ quoted as saying so? Is it something that fans have observed in a handful of preseason snaps? Or is this how he (Romo) characterizes himself?

Moxie seems the antithesis of what BP is looking for in a QB. I thought he was looking for "bus drivers"....

Is moxie what we want? Personally, I think "moxie" can lead to a lot of INTs and unneccessary time for the D on the field making what could be a potentially elite group less effective.

JMO.

1. It was Parcells that said he had moxie (and it was a compliment).

2. You obviously don't understand what Bill's idea of a "Bus Driver" is or you don't understand the meaning of the word "Moxie".

3. Moxie does not mean more ints. Moxie is a personality trait, not a word used to describe a penchant for throwing the ball to the wrong team.

See, this is where things don't quite gel for me.

I define moxies as having guts to take chances. A bus driver, to me, is someone who plays conservatively enough "not to lose the game".

Many on this board has criticized BP (or Payton) for being too conservative w/ their playcalling. How's it going to work out when BP calls for one of our backs to run btwn the tackles on 3rd and short only to have Romo audible at the line for a deep crossing route over the middle?

Moxie = Bill Parcells likes you. You remind him of himself to some degree, meaning he thinks you have grit, he thinks you have SPUNK.

Its simple really. Moxie is just another word for confidence. If you don't have confidence, you hesitate in your decision making. When you hesitate making decisions, the defense is a step ahead of you. When the defense is a step ahead of you, they dictate the game.

Its become quite apparent from Simms to Hostetler to Bledsoe to Quincy that Parcells would rather have a QB he has to reign in than a QB he has to coax it out of. Its all about the responding to the competition that he spoke about yesterday.

Uhh.. so that's how you interpret someone having moxie? 3rd and short, audibling to a deep crossing route?

who knows, but this romo kid's got it. how he got it and what he'll do with it remains to be seen. sorta reminds me of others who had "moxie" in the past. guys like jim mcmahon and clint longley. one won the super bowl, the other one is best remembered for winning a turkey day game and sucker punching staubach. wait a minute i confusing moxie with spunk. or is it the other way around?
