Romo's public perception level is entering Delhomme levels

I'm a big Romo supporter, but he pretty much blew that game in WAS for us at the end of the season. That's not unusual for a really good QB to cough up a hairball now and then, but I'm not sure there's any way around the fact that he did, in the worst possible situation: a season ended game 17 for all the marbles.

What I did not like about that play was that as soon as the rusher came running, Romo saw it and made the right read, however, he "lobbed" the ball rather than burning it in to the receiver. I really think that if Romo would have delivered a "fast ball" it does not get intercepted.

I am at a complete loss for words when I read stuff like this. Are you serious? Buffalo, KC, Cleveland, Miami, Philly, Minnesota, Oakland would jump in a second and I bet Houston and Chicago and San Diego would bite too.

Because Patrick crayton for no reason, and to this day he has no answer for this mistake, stopped running his route after misreading the defense.

Romo read it correctly and threw the ball to a perfect spot, crayton wasn't there because he gave up on the play.

His hesitation was him about to run the out then shuffled and kept going.

Thank you for being honest. I wish other Romo supporters could be honest with themselves as well but they are so obsessed with the guy they can't even admit he gift wrapped the Washington game. How anyone can defend his play in that game is beyond me. They only focus on his last INT, they forget the other 2 INT'S.

He would need to go back in time and play for the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens to win Superbowls. The dude can't even be counted on against a 30th ranked passing defense. It was Romo's fault we lost that game. But yeah, I agree with you.. he NEEDS to go to a different team and take his choking in big games with him.

Romo can be brilliant.

He also can be the one reason the team loses.

I am a Romo fan, but I refuse to allow myself to be a fan over using logic to grade out this player.

Great stats, except the ones that matter. Winning.

Great understanding of the game, until he is in crunch time in a REAL win or go home game and he forces things.

Great leader - finally.

But like all quarterbacks, he needs a team around him.

Yet in that statement he is not absolved of his boneheaded plays, his trying too hard, or his major gaffes that cause the team to lose.

So much of Romo's lack of play-off success falls on the GM who builds a faulty team.

Some rests on players around him not executing.

The rest fall on the shoulders of Romo himself.

He is what he is, and unless Jerry grows a brain soon, he will go into the history of this league as an over-achiever that didn't have the personal talent to lift a team to victory when it was most dire to win.

Fair or not, he will carry his losses himself.

That most important thing in life quote in 08 so many love to bag on was in regards to his dealing with his father having prostate cancer at the time.

It never was about the game. There is less than zero percent chance his commitment is or has been anything but the most important thing.

It's sad how people hate and I do mean hate such a great player and person.

After what has happened recently, there is a part of me that wishes romo and witten would go to another organization and win just to stick it to these people and to the jones family for the mess they have created.

Thats just who Romo is. At 33 (in April) he's not going to change. Sometimes I wonder if Romo had a coach that would have kept him on a leash and held him accountable, instead of just pat him on the back when he makes those same mistakes, would things be different?

Romo is Romo. Hes going to win you games, hes going to lose you games. 8-8. Thats our Romo.

Here is a podcast about Parcells and he speaks about the qb position fast forward to 5:50 if you wish to get to the point.

A few points of this interview that jump out at me..

Pay attention to what is said at the 7:10 mark.Do you need an elite qb to win a super bowl? A few traits that Parcells list in good qbs execution,passing game, not a lot of mistakes.

Parcells also hit the hammer on the nail at the 7:50 ...

There is a reason why this team is failing to make the playoffs or why this team is always in do or die games at the end of the season.
