Romo's "tell" ...

Just an observation, and admittedly a pretty minor one on the heels of such a bad loss ....

Several times last night Romo held up 2 fingers to Gurode in the huddle, indicated the snap count. He always did that before a shotgun play, and Gurode always snapped the ball Romo's second foot raise.

There was a shotgun play that was botched a bit in the second half. Romo made a decent recover, but the play didn't amount to anything. I saw Romo go up to a lineman (I'm assuming it was Gurode) after the play and hold up two fingers again. I'll have to go back and look, but I think the ball was snapped on the first foot raise, i.e. Gurode screwed up and that threw the play off.

This "tell' has to be visible to the defense. Romo needs to correct that.

Anyone else see this?

Send this to Spags. A fan did this last year and it was right. He passed the info on. Right or wrong they need to look for something.

I noted this in the game thread as it was happening.

The entire stadium could see it. Clear as day.

isn't this how the silent count is done?

i read somewhere, that romo's tell was looking at his playsheet after breaking from the huddle when it was a pass

You missed the point. The tell isn't the raising and lowering of the foot, it is holding two fingers up in the huddle, plain as day.

Kosier did the same thing. Either that, or he was telling America that he was number 1.

Yeah. That was quite the mind blower.

He'd do it, which signaled to the defense that they were going into the shotgun AND gave away the snap count.

How on earth does a coaching staff allow this stuff?????

Saw it last night... But from the overhead view you had (camera shot) I am not sure how tight the huddle was... If you are 6'2 and bending down and have mountain men all around you, they might not see it..

My wife said the same thing, about the D seeing it. I'm with you, we had an over head advantage the D didn't.

Well, who's to say that the guys in the Seahawks coaching booth didn't have the same picture we were watching?

Regardless, I've never seen something so obvious.

My wife, a casual fan, even saw it when they showed those close-ups of the Cowboy huddle. When I told her what Romo was doing she asked "seriously???"

What gets me about it is, WHERE THE HELL ARE THE COACHES???

He's tipping off formation AND snap count.

That's what I mean about this staff and Parcells'. He lectures the world about football and there's his QB doing that play after play.

Go figure.

Think the D was looking at the jumbotron during our huddles?

Strange you bring this up, because I saw and thought the exact same thing last night. He was showing the world their snap count.
