So whats the real deal or inside info on his ribs? I dont trust dallas medical staff (said he got the wind knocked out of him at first, i knew that was bs when i heard it. I had the wind knocked out of me in a football game once u dont make the faces romo was making. Its just more of u loose your breath but end up being ok after like 5 or 10 mins if not instantly. are his ribs bruised or broken?

Recovery time?

The ribs are definitely affecting him. I understand him and the team not saying much about it - first off it sounds like excuse making if Tony says his throws are off because of it; secondly, announcing to the other team your ribs are bad makes those ribs a prime target. The quick throws and occasional inaccuracy are byproducts of those sore ribs (not broken but bruised bad).

The team feels that despite the temporary handicap he is still our best option out there and I agree. Ugly as it was the game in KC was still winnable if not for the fumbles and drops.

I suspect it will be an issue for another couple weeks with gradual improvement. All this crying about our offense is off target - when he is closer to 100 percent he will be slinging it around again like he did in preseason. We just have to get by until then. Tough luck getting the ribs busted in the first game but our Oline has allowed that a lot.

I've suspected they're injured worse than reported.

It was a bigger direct shot than the one that punctures his lung.

Tony Romo defense attorneys don't have Doug Free to kick around anymore. So the ribs are the new excuse. They almost have their nown show on the TIcket.

I'll say it again.. If Romo can't make the throws down the field, because of his ribs, he needs to sit. I don't care where the order comes from. We have a capable back-up that an play ball control offense, probably better than Romo can, without compromising Romo's ribs and career. Hell, if Romo didn't look left on the TWill screen, when he should have gone to Dez, because of his ribs, this is further attestation to my point. Even Orton can make that throw.

Romo sucks at throwing quick passes to moving targets. He's not like a Rodgers or a Cutler in that area.

They have to be apart of the offense but if it's all we're going to run then just play Orton until Romo is healthy enough to get the ball downfield.

Agreed. I would rather have a 100% Orton than a 60% Romo out there on game day.

I think it's a rhythm thing. We simply don't have any rhythm to this offense.

Romo's ribs definitely look like they're affecting him. I'd still take him at 75% over Orton.

just asked a question about if he had broken ribs or just bruised. Not saying i think romo sucks or he couldn't make a throw because of his ribs. Relax

I don't see anyone before making excuses for him. It's hard to breathe and walk with bad ribs much less play professional football. Romo isn't responsible for running the ball unless you want to pick on his career's worth of passing effectively. No one has seen the guy throw the ball that poorly before that many throws in a row.

Agreed. I have had bruised ribs and that is extremely uncomfortable and painful. Romo's ribs may be hurt more than they're letting on.

The theory he had a shot that wore off makes sense to me. Obviously he can still heave it downfield (see throws to Dez).

I found it interesting that right at the start of the game one f the commentators said something like

"these rib injuries can be tricky - most of the time they're fine, then you twist or turn some way and they're all flared up and sore again"

Seems to me exactly what happened, Tony beautifully aired out the ball Dez dropped, probably tweaked something, and couldn't hit the side of a battleship afterwards.

the irony of the battleship comment is that the offense seems like they are playing in water over their head (which is where Tony is throwing from if he is trying to hit your battleship)....now, will they sink or swim is the question?
