How does he compare, statistically to other QB's in TD/INT ratio? 1.95 seems like a pretty solid number. My issue with Romo isn't his throwing INT's, everyone does it, it's the timing that's so frustrating.

I was talking about the importance of your defense's numbers in the other thread. With all the focus on QB, the stats for the defense are hardly publicized, even though they're just as meaningful. Rodgers plus that pass defense make for a ridiculous combination. The Packers pass D had a TD/INT ratio way below 1 (0.67) when they won the Super Bowl.

Here are the defensive TD/INT ratios for 2011-12 combined:

1 Seahawks 0.83
2 Ravens 0.93
3 Bears 0.93
4 Falcons 1.00
5 49ers 1.05
6 Packers 1.08
7 Cards 1.16
8 Jets 1.17
9 Patriots 1.23
10 Giants 1.32

27 Cowboys 2.09

There's no denying the importance of being able to stop the pass in a pass first league.

Bryant 22 td 5 int (4.40)
Owens 33 td 19 int (1.74)

To me, this is the eye-popper.

Wonder what Hayes's numbers looked like the first two years compared to Dez.
Sure wish I knew. They only recently started keeping track of targets.

Here's the best I can do:

ranked by TD (bold = Hall of Fame)
min 150 catches, 2700 yards, 25 TD (50 rec, 900 yds per season avg)

1 Randy Moss (1998-2000) 226 rec 4163 yds 43 td
2 Jerry Rice (1985-1987) 200 rec 3575 yds 40 td
3 John Jefferson (1978-1980) 199 rec 3431 yds 36 td
4 Bob Hayes (1965-1967) 160 rec 3253 yds 35 td
5 Dez Bryant (2010-2012) 200 rec 2871 yds 27 td

Look at that average! You should have seen the man.

Gee, so that's what we passed on in 1998? At least we got it right this time around!
