We have a legitimate QB growing on the horizon and that's a good problem to have. How they handle this can derail the team one way or the other.

It's a win/win situation either way. It is also lose/lose in that it also hurts you either way.

You have to ask yourself, in all honesty what ALL of your options are with these two QBs. Romo is a top 5 QB when healthy. That is a really rare commodity and has value .... to us and ALSO to other teams.

Ask yourself, what would a team like the Houston Texans give right now to add a player like Tony Romo in two weeks? If Romo passes a physical, it makes that team a legitimate contender. They are not with Osweiler!

If The Vikes will give what they gave up to get Bradford, what would the Texans give to get Romo? Two firsts and if they win the Super Bowl another first? I think they would make that deal right now.

We would have to create cap room to do it, but would save a ******** of salary going forward. So there is some offset there. Every option has to be explored. Romo's window is closing. If the drop off between Romo and Dak isn't that great, you get cap relief and draft draft picks. Another Herschell Walker deal?

The Texans just signed osweiler and have lost the best player they have. Don't think they would be in the market like you think they would

Maybe. But I think you far underestimate how starved that franchise is for a legitimate franchise QB. They have arguably never had one.

Matt Shaub was pretty good for 6-7 years

They could probably trade Osweiler's deal pretty easy but they made a big commitment, 37m guaranteed

At what level of compensation would you trade Romo? It's a legitimate question.

There are definite impediments to trading Romo in the middle of the season, not the least of which is the salary cap implications. But at what point does the draft compensation make it worth figuring out how to get it done?

Osweiler appears to be a bust. I can't imagine them letting his deal getting in the way of anything.

DAL would save money trading Romo this year, 4m

They would take a 19m dead cap hit next year but that still saves 5m off the cap number and clears it all off the books starting in 2018

If they can't trade him they owe him 16m guaranteed next year.....add 14m for Romo and that is tough to pull off

I grew up in Houston
I get it and if they hadn't lost their best defensive player they might even consider it but with watt out and osweiler just signing a contract I don't see it
The rams just drafted a qb but that's a good team a qb away too
But I don't see romp being traded this year
Like Leary the depth is pretty valuable even if Dak continues to start

I don't want to trade Romo at all. And no way the Texans make that deal regardless. HOWEVER, it would funny as heck to watch and listen to Texans fan if Romo was traded there.. they have nothing but disdain for him and the Cowboys.
