Ron Rivera new HC candidate?

With a loss to Commanders, this will likely be end of Ron Rivera's tenure at Carolina. Rivera is a hard nose defensive coach that has fielded a top 10 defense for most of his tenure, and took the Panthers team to a SB. I believe pairing him with Kellen Moore will make Dallas a compete team. Rivera will a light a fire on the defensive side and take this defense to elite level. What do y’all think about Rivers as a HC candidate?

so why hasn't ron rivera " lit a fire " under his players and staff at his current regime as HC of the Panthers.
Its one thing that to make him a possible candidate as the new defensive coordinator ,..should the new HC would consider him as a 4-3 scheme DC, .. but head coach of the Cowboys ?

I truly hope Rivera, .. nor "John Fox ", ...nor a Norv Turner are ever in the HC mix as future Cowboys HC here.
That simply will not light up the aspirations and excitement any more than Jason Garrett era.

Rather have a proven NFL head coach (Rivera) than a college coach who's used to having a talent advantage in 99 percent of the games his team plays. That won't be the case in the NFL. There is big difference coaching in the NFL and coaching in college.

We need a modern day offensive mind and a new defensive coordinator. Rivera might be a candidate for the latter. He's not HC material.

I wouldn't think Cowboys are gonna go for these retreads, and old schoolers' , that's just not gonna make an aspiring splash among fan base.
We've did that with the likes of Chan Gailey and Wade Phillips, .. and continuing with these old retreads is no different an upgrade over a Jason Garrett, imo.

I would think Cowboys are trying to get the next new Kyle Shanahan (Niners HC) ..as last year, it was the young upcomer Sean McVay of the Rams' that was making all the hot presses.

Someone that will play a very huge part in continuation of Dak and rejuvenation of Zeke, ..I've completely changed my initial gut feeling that says the big change will come from the inside.
but now i think it will more likely come from the outside, but yet still in the NFL ranks vs high profile college big namers.

Ron Rivera is extremely underrated. They could do far worse, and odds are extremely high that they will.

I'm indifferent, but will say this; those that fawn over Harbaugh for his SB runner-up in San Francisco, should also give this guy credit for his SB run at Carolina.
He's actually gotten his team to the playoffs fairly often, and has seen them win as well.
