Bleacher Report's Matt Miller reports that FSU CB Ronald Darby will be planning a pre-draft visit with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Darby's draft stock seems to be on the rise, as some evaluators love his physicality, ideal size, and overall athleticism at the next level. The FSU prospect also has the ideal speed teams look for at the CB position, as Darby was a member of the gold medal winning USA medley relay at the 2011 World Youth Championships in France, while in High School. Some evaluators have given Darby a second-round grade, but there is a chance he could go in the back end of the first-round. Mar 31 - 4:07 PM

All of these CB's that we are bringing in are making me think we will take one in the 2nd.

If we don't get Gurley in the 1st, which I don't think we will... I think we get a RB in the 3rd and go defense first 2 rounds with one of those at CB.

CB is a premium position, think future cap. I think they take at least two this year. Carr and Claiborne wont be here in a year, and signing free agent CBs cost too much.

If you could guarantee me they're taking multiple corners this year I wouldn't even watch. Pfft.

good point. but besides that we need help now, can you imagine if Carr goes down?

The way these visits are shaking out, its looking like they are eyeing RB, CB and LB early(not in this order necessarily), maybe the 1st 3 picks.

I'm not a fan of this guy, reminds me A LOT of Mike Jenkins and that's not a good thing. Very soft and I have a feeling the same issues that plagued Jenkins will pop up with this guy and limit his vast potential.

I like Darby's running mate at FSU better (Williams). That dude will knock the **** out of you. He would be nice to have out on the boundry with Scandrick in the slot.

Darby, I'm not so sold on. I think he has good coverage skills but I like corners like Scandrick that will come up and stop a runner in his tracks.

PJ Williams is really put together well so he shouldn't have injury problems and man, will he lay the boom down. Just a football player, first and foremost. I wouldn't mind him at 27.

PJ fits the scheme better, but I really want DL in the 1st if Gurley is gonzo

I agree but I'm afraid there might not be a DE/DT there at 27 that is worth that pick. I don't think Williams will be there either but if he was and there wasn't a good DL there, I'd be fine with PJ Williams in the first.

You mean you don't see the fit for Darby and that you agree that PJ would be better in our scheme?

both,I too am underwhelmed on the visit lists so far this year.we should be strengthening our Dline first and it should be our first priority,

I agree on the line but I really think the options will be severely limited at 27. I like Preston Smith at SDE and maybe he's there but if the team just says DE come hell or high water then they're going to likely leave someone on the board at CB, RB, or LB that they have rated higher. That is how the old Cowboys did it. Since 2010 they've been taking BPA and have been doing much better.

I'm sure they'll take the DL if he is BPA but I agree with them to be prepared at RB, LB and CB.

its not only about 27 though,we need to take some chances on DEs like Zadarius smith etc in later RDs,not a singles DE or DT on that list so far.

Z. Smith would be a perfect SDE fit. His upside is limited with his athleticism peaked out, but he's atout against the run and advanced qith his technique. I don't think he will ever be a 10+ sack guy, but a solid rotational 4-6 and maybe 8 sack guy if he can get even stronger and has a good DL unit. Lorenzo Mauldin is another player i want them to look at. If he's there in the 3rd, i take him. He has the size for a WDE, but posted some questionable speed times at the combine. Dude can play though.

I don't really want a DL at 27 unless Brown or Shelton fall since they would likely be bpa by a good margin. I would like to add a DT like Cooper in 2nd, Wright or Jarrett in 3rd/4th, or a DE like those mentioned above in the 3rd.

My favorite corner in the class.

That's nice, but you would be comfortable picking him 27th? I like Peters more as I think he is simply better, but I would not take him at 27 either.
