Rookie Edge/DE Sam "De" Williams: Over/Under 6 sacks in 2022?

I agree I know its not expected for rookies to get many sacks unless maybe if your a top 5-10 pick.

Out of curiosity I looked up rookie sack leaders by year (last 5 years) to see how many rookies get 6 or more sacks.

It averages out to 3.4 with the expected Bosa brothers, TJ Watt ect. on top of the lists.

Not saying he can't but the safe bet is the "under"

He has DLaw, Basham, Fowler, Armstrong and Parsons in front of him. Outside of an injury he won't get much playing time. So put me down for 2 sacks during the regular season and 1 sack in the playoffs.

He will get lots of playing time. Parsons will blitz majority from LB spots…Dlaw likely doesn’t make 17 games be honest, Basham is rotational hustle guy, Fowler might get cut in camp if Williams shows out in all honesty.

I just listened to Quinn’s interview during rookie mini camp. He loves him some De Williams. I think the guy has chance to be a rotation end over Fowler. I am really going to watch Williams because the Cowboys YouTubers and Cowboys media seemed to be down on the pick. It makes you wonder do the YouTubers know more football then the mighty Quinn.

More than just sacks, I want to see pressures that lead to INTs and forced fumbles, as well as sacks for other guys. Pass rushing is a unit job, not just a 1 man show.

This is why I make fun of them Cowboys YouTubers and Cowboys media: bunch of dummies who think they know more than the coaches.

If one is truly honest with the praise already coming out from Coach Dan Quinn and Coach Mike McCarthy, Sam Williams might start at Right DE and play so much more than what many originally thought. That's why I say Sam Williams easily gets over 6 sacks if he stays healthy this season.

On the Blogging the Boys podcast he specifically requested that folks refer to him as "De" because none of his family/friends called him "Sam."

Now, he's saying he wants to go by "Sam?"

He must have gotten scolded by his momma.

Not something I can predict without knowing how good our run D will be. A good run D allows for sack opportunities. A bad run D and no one gets a lot of sacks.

A 2nd and 11 or 3rd and 8 is what gives a team opportunity for sacks. 2nd and 5 and 3rd and 2 does not.

I am almost 50! I go by Joseph since college.
But every now and then some person who knows me from my family will call me Joey... like I am 10.

Zzzzzzzz this is a weak argument. Football is about winning and scheming matchups. Its a one man show if hes dominant. Tell aaron donald he isnt a 1 man show. He sealed the sb win for them.
