What are your grades for this year's rookie class? Here are mine.
Frederick - 9/10. He has been a lot better than advertised. Still needs to work on some things, as we saw today on that goal line run where Murray lost 10 yards. He was an instant upgrade over Costa.
Escobar - 5/10. Hasn't really done a whole lot, but he is playing behind a Cowboys living legend. The Cowboys abandoned the 2 TE set pretty early in the season, due to Escobar being one dimensional. He has shown that he has pretty good hands.
Williams - 7/10. He is what we all thought coming out of college. Not every explosive, has good straight line speed, and needs to work on his hands. He has made some boneheaded plays, but he has also made some great plays. His route running appears to have improved quite a bit. I think he has been a good value for a 3rd rounder. I think he has a pretty high ceiling with some good coaching.
Wilcox - 5/10. He was basically handed his job, and hasn't really done a whole lot. He seems to be around the ball a lot, but his coverage skills are pretty weak. I don't really think he is a starter in this league.
Webb - 4/10. He has been terrible, even though he looked good in camp. They had to bring in Sterling Moore to replace him because he was being beaten like a drum. Maybe he just lost his confidence.
Randle - 3/10. This guy really disappointed me. He hasn't shown anything that makes him special. He is a jack of all trades, but master of none. I thought he would have an impact, but he is lucky to be on the team.
Holloman - Incomplete. He hasn't had a chance to play much with his injuries. Right now, he is still getting used to the speed of the NFL. We have to wait and see.
Overall, I think we have had good production out of the draft class, but mainly from 2 guys.
