Jake Long is a very down-to-earth guy. He talked at ease about the pressure he faces as the highest-paid offensive lineman in the game despite not taking a snap yet, and he looks ready to go.

I was reading along and then I spotted that and I stopped reading...

Is this true? Can this be true? Man, I havn't really had an opinion of the whole rookie pay scale, but that is incredible. Agents have really done a good job for the players.

Man, we paid Leonard Davis huge money, and Flozell decent change too. So owners are paying more for an unproven player than a high level player in the NFL. Crazy. Doesn't seem good for business.

Has the national media broght this up at all? Might be an interesting bargaining point for the new contract if they did.

I remember when they announced the deal and some people had the balls to say he was a moral victory because he got paid less than Jamarcus Russel did as a #1 last year. Like they both play QB.
