The weekly "Rookie Watch" article just came out.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?page=rookiewatch10

If you can't go to the link, I'll at least give you the rankings (with last week's in parenthesis).

1. (1) Sam Bradford_________drafted 1st overall
2. (4) DEZ BRYANT__________24th
3. (3) Mike Williams__________101st
4. (2) Ndammukong Suh______2nd
5. (nr) Colt McCoy__________85th
6. (5) Tony Moeaki__________93rd
7. (6) Eric Berry_____________5th
8. (nr) Ron Gronkowski_______42nd
9. (nr) LeGarrett Blount______undrafted
10.(8) Maurkice Pouncey_____18th

(others mentioned: Alterran Verder, Lamaar Houston, Devin McCourty, Earl Thomas, Aaron Hernandez, TJ Ward)
----------------

I'd have Bradford #1 and Suh at #2, but great to see Dez rocketing up the charts.
They also have a mini wirite-up on how McCoy seems to be maturing quickly and the game is already slowing down some for him. Not bad for the 85th pick.

If Bryant continues to light it up like he has been the last few games, he can overtake Bradford. While Bradford has done some impressive things, he hasn't been dominate. (he is a rookie, so you really don't expect him to be)

I agree. Bradford has been solid and he has been good, which is impressive for a rookie playing for a team that sucks, but a few more eye popping games out of Dez and he can get some attention.

It may even help Dez that the team sucks because media people will be looking for the bright spot amidst all the crap, and when they do Dez will pop out at them.

Two things need to happen for Dez to win OROY:

1. Rams need to go on a losing streak, or Bradford needs to get injured.
2. Dez needs to light it up on Thanksgiving and any other prime time games we have.

If both happens, he has a shot. Otherwise, it'll go to the QB.

I doubt it. Unless Bradford comes unhinged or gets injured it is his for the taking.

Exactly. My homerisms aside, if Bradford continues what he's doing nobody is going to catch him.

Im very proud of Sam the Ram. He has taken over that team and it's showing.

The Rams are playing very hard whistle to whisle and thats all a fan can hope for.

Like I said, what he has done and the leadership he has shown is nice. He even has a positive TD to INT ratio.

That said, he hasn't been all that impressive statistically. His QB rating is 78 and his team is sub 500.

If Bradford continues on his current path and ends with a 7-9 recorder with a sub 80 QB rating and Dez scores close to 12TDs and 1000+ yards while making the highlight reel every week as he has been doing. Dez will over take him. Dez is just a more exciting player to watch.

I don't know - 7-9 is quite an improvement for the Rams over last year, and Bradford is likely to get a big part of the credit.

We will see. They might even be able to make it to 8-8. Atlanta and the Saints are going to be losses. The rest are winnable if they play great. The Chiefs might be tough for them.

The most dominant rookie has been Suh.

Still, the QB position is far and away the toughest, so Bradford would have to collapse to not get ROY....imo.

I'm not disagreeing with you that Dez has a chance, but also agree with Hole in the Roof that the odds are with the QB, and that Bradford needs to falter a bit and/or Dez needs to light it up whenver there is national attention.

QB is going to have a better chance than WR, and WR is going to have a better chance than D-line. Maybe not fair, but that's how it works.

Not sure if Suh counts as they normally have Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the year awards.

What was the name of that receiver that went in the draft just before Dez? wasn't he saying that he was better? I wonder if he still feels the same...

On one hand, I'm happy that Dez "Violent" Bryant is cracking this list.

On the other hand, I'm very disappointed that Sean Lee has not. I had such high hopes for him and he's not really seen the field. Thanks Wade!

Since the discussion is about who will OROY, I think it's fair to put WRs and QBs above defensive linemen. I do agree that Suh has been the best rookie so far.

I was crying for us to get McCoy; what round did he fall to? 4th!!???

He's just one of those guys who's a winner. Not prototypical size, arm, etc but just gets it done. Would've been a hell of a lot better backup to groom for Romo vs McGee.

What Lagarrette Bount has done has been impressive. I saw him two weeks ago and wondered where he had been. That guy looks huge. I'm shocked to see he's only 6 foot. He runs like Brandon Jacobs use to.

I would have loved to have him. I was calling for him on this board the day he was drafted. Too bad we missed on him. He woulda been a great backup for Romo for years to come and then potentially take over the reigns from there.

If nothing else, he would have been good trade bait.

Sucks we didn't snatch him. Yes. I know we didn't need a QB. But that would have been a value pick.

BTW, who did we pick instead?
