How many rookies do folks see making the team.

Claiborne - CB
Crawford - DE
Wilbur - LB
Johnson - S
Coale - WR
Hannah - TE

Leary - G
Bryan - TE
Smith - CB

Are my guesses. I think we cut McGee and go with 4 TE's. Bryan was a stud when Wilson was NC State QB.

This might be wishful thinking but here we go:

Whiteside
Hamilton
McSurdy

13 if the Punter is any good. 12 if he isn't. The new dirty dozen.

For those who don't know, in 1975 we added 12 rookies and went to Super Bowl X. They were called the dirty dozen.

Oh, my rookie class are the 7 draft picks, Hamilton, Whiteside, Leary, Adams, and Wollfolk.

And this is after I think 8 rookies/UDFA's made the team last year. Some of them may be cut this year, but that would still represent a really big turnover and younger team in just the past two offseasons.

Great history and wishes for the upcoming year. I like the dirty dozen.

Or Dirty Baker's Dozen.

Point of comparison -- 10 Rookies made the Packers 2011 roster despite the fact they won the Superbowl the year before and had 18 veterans coming off of IR the season before. Every year Green Bay is the one of the top 5 youngest teams in the league because they are constantly replacing "non-star" veterans with rookies .

It's my hope that 8-12 rookie draft picks / UDFAS make the Cowboy's 53 man roster. I like the Cowboys youth movement over the last couple of years and I think wherever possible, youth should be served and mediocre players should be replaced -- even with rookies yet to be determined productions.

53 Man Roster
Claiborne
Crawford
Wilbur
Johnson
Coale
Hakim
Hamilton
Leary
Radway :D

Practice Squad
McCurdy
Hannah
Smith

Whats interesting to me is how many players are going to have to be cut to make room for all these guys. I agree that 11 or so could make the roster, but that's a huge turnover. Hard to make those changes without cutting some decent vets I would think.

Maybe its just me but i have a good feeling about Adrian Hamilton.

History tells us there a good chance not all of our draft picks make the roster and we will try to play some practice squad games and risk losing them if we can. History also tells us that a few of our UDFA's will do what seems like enough to make the team and still will not and that at least one fan favorite will be dismissed, which will spawn thread after thread.

This kind of goes along with how many rookies will make the team....

Which player(s) do you think will be cut?

If I had to guess, I would probably say:

McGee
Coleman
Ogletree

At least I can hope.

Shaun Chapas
Kevin Ogletree
Kevin Kowalski
Kenyon Coleman
Alex Albright

That's my guess, I also think Church may be cut despite the fact that I love the guy because we are basically throwing offensive linemen against the wall and seeing which stick, so we may need to hang onto more than usual.

I think Chapas and Albright are certainly possible. I wonder if Kowalski will make a push for that center position?
