Rooting Hard for Baltimore

If I'm not mistaken, a Giants loss this weekend is potentially HUGE for us. If the Giants lose then, regardless of what Washington or Dallas does this weekend, the winner of the East will be the winner of the Dal/Was finale. Also (for other Giants haters like myself) if the Giants lose and Dallas, Washington and Seattle (win/tie) win this weekend, the Giants are actually eliminated from playoff contention! Obviously, if we win the next two games we have nothing to worry about. However, I know that there is a very real chance that we could lose to Brees and the Saints. I would love to still have a chance at the division during that final week even if we lose this week. If we lose this weekend and the Giants beat Baltimore we're in trouble (I don't think NY loses in week 17). Even if we beat Washington, we'll probably miss out on the wildcard. So basically....GO RAVENS!!!

Yea, The only thing that sucks is the Cowboys and Commanders bith play the early game and the Giants play the late game

I know! I would love to watch the Dallas/New Orleans game stress-free after the Giants lost to Baltimore. Oh well...:(

So, if the Giants and Cowboys lose, then the Cowboys beat the Commanders, the winner of the NFC East will be 9-7?

Good god parity sucks.

Yes. I believe if there is a 3-way tie at 9-7 the winner of the Dal/Was game will be the NFC East champion.

Don't think Giants fans were saying parity sucks last season.

Yeah that's how it is these days. 9 or 10 wins, play pretty well in the post-season, get a few bounces/breaks...SB champs. Maybe we'll take advantage of that within the next couple of years.

Yes root for Giants.

This thread was obviously about playoff implications and not just rooting against a rival. Great post though .

Personally, I don't have a lot of faith in the Ravens. They've been terrible over the past couple weeks, and with the Giants having their backs against the wall I think they will stomp Baltimore. Not to mention that the Ravens have already clinched a playoff birth (I realize they are still vying for their division). We need to make sure we get into the playoffs and the first step in doing that is being the Saints.

Agree with you 100% sir. Flacco is horrid lately and I never thought he was great in the first place.

That is correct. Dallas will win the NFCE due to a better division record than the Giants and a better common opponents record than the Skins.

I know. I feel the same way. I could very easily see the Giants and Saints winning this weekend and, just like that, all these good feelings are gone as we watch the Giants march into the playoffs again with the world's largest rabbit's foot (they've clearly possessed that foot since 2007 IMO). Then we'll go and beat the Skins but miss the playoffs. Our victory actually would allow the Giants to take the division and you'd hear a yell of anger/frusttration from NJ that would probably measure on the richter scale.

This still does not mean we miss the playoffs. We could go 1-1....even if the Giants go 2-0...and still get in as the Wildcard. We just need to make sure we at LEAST win one of these games. If we lose both...we don't derserve to be a playoff team. The game we HAVE to win to have any chance...is against the Skins. A Giants loss would be great...but Flacco is being exposed for what he really is right now...and the Ravens are beat up on defense. I believe BOTH their starting CBs for the season are out. Of course Lewis and Suggs are hurt. This is not your typical Ravens defense...and again, Flacco is proving to be who I really think he is anyway.
