You should care because Seinfeld was a "spinoff" from Roseanne. Roseanne was a stand-up comic who then went on to have her own show. She then helped Seinfeld get his show.

Like her or not, her ratings are through the roof.... AGAIN.:D

lol. Try again why I should care about Booresanne.

Too many good shows on streaming sites to waste time on a TV sitcom.

Who cares abour Boooresanne. I want a Seinfeld show, a few new ones, a reunion, something.

Seinfeld (1989) isn't a spinoff of Roseanne (1988). Are you saying because Roseanne Barr did stand-up prior, it helped stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld get his own show a year later?

If that is you're point, it appears you're forgetting about other previous stand-up comedians also having their own shows prior to Jerry Seinfeld and Roseanne Barr getting their own shows:
  • Redd Foxx — Sanford and Son (1972)
  • Bob Newhart — The Bob Newhart Show (1972) & Newhart (1982)
  • Robin Williams — Mork & Mindy (1978)
  • Bill Cosby — The Bill Cosby Show (1984)
  • Garry Shandling — It's Garry Shandling's Show (1986)

Sorry if I’ve violeted the rules...I’ve never condidered the political...just a a sit com that’s funny...I apologize,,..
No apologies necessary. Your OP is neutral. The potential of The Usual Suspects (Keyser Söze!!!) twisting the thread into something they know is not permitted on this site is always high.

I watched the first 2 episodes and thought it was pretty good.

Seems to have some of the magic the original series had the first few seasons.

I loved it. It had the whole vibe back from the first few seasons. I had watched the original regularly during the first 6 seasons and on and off during the last few. I hated the last season so I was surprised how good this one was.

Juggs? Really? Wasn't talking about OTHER shows. Just Roseanne & Seinfeld. You show know me by know me better that I don't post what I want to be true, but instead is.

I've read it somewhere that's how I knew that. But now that my bud is calling me out on my post, I did a quick search (not that I have time).
There's more on the topic in other searches, but there's more important things I need to get done today. Haven't needed to post a link to back up my post as of yet on this site, but I did it just for you. Anyone else I would of just posted this "".

https://www.littlethings.com/roseanne-tv-show-facts/

I wasn't trying to call you out, I was just trying to understand why you called Seinfeld a spinoff from Roseanne. I'd call The Jeffersons a spinoff from All in the Family, but not Seinfeld from Roseanne.

Thanks for taking the time from your busy day to post the link.

The author from the link says, "The success of her show inspired networks to take a chance on some of her comedian peers — like Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Ellen DeGeneres, and Brett Butler."

I disagree with the author, because as I previously mentioned, television networks already profited from a long history of several successful television shows created from stand-up comedians.

If @PJTHEDOORS wants to thank anyone for Seinfeld, he shouldn't thank Roseanne Barr, he should thank Rick Ludwin of NBC. Ludwin cancelled a Bob Hope special to fund Seinfield's first season.

Hopefully your day becomes less busy.

Thanks, I hope you have a great day as well. I think Villanova is having their victory parade today, second victory parade this year for Philadelphia. Hopefully they never have another Super Bowl parade. :D

How did the original series end? I thought they won the lottery, and were rich.

The wife DVR'd the 1st episode and watched it last night. I didn't really watch it but was in the room with her and heard much of it. Most of it sounded like forced jokes to get their agenda across.

The original series at first was better. The jokes were more natural.

I'm pretty sure I get why the reboot (although I'm not allowed to say why). But if that is why, it's a poor excuse for rebooting a show that after 20 years. I don't think Roseanne is the only reboot with an agenda to fill. Will and Grace is another in my opinion. I didn't watch that show 20 years ago and have no plans to watch it now.
