I would not in any way say that TCU locked down the Wisconsin running game. Wisconsin made some key mistakes and frankly tried to get too fancy; they should have just concentrated on wearing down the TCU defense; which they did but not enough.
The missed field goal cost them dearly. Also the failure to make that first 3 points a touchdown.
Lastly, getting away from the play-action pass and running game by going shotgun in the most critical play of the game - that two point conversion at the end. John Clay could have been utilized a little more in the final drives. He was getting the yards when given the oppertunity late.

That said, TCU's is an impressive team. Wisconsin couldn't stop their offense, TCU was the team moving the ball at will. Wisconsin while controlling the time of possession had to grind out the yards, stubbornly. TCU's defense was more than a match for Wisconsin. The size difference thing was overplayed in the media.
The TCU as under-dogs thing is also overplayed. A Rose Bowl was out of a lot of Wisconsin fans' sights at the beginning of this season. It was a dream that came out of nowhere right after the Ohio State game. I know TCU's been in national championship discussions for a couple years now whereas Wisconsin fought most of the year to crack the top ten after another dissapointing season last year. TCU were the favorites with the book-keepers and basically met the odds. Lots of props to TCU on a deserved win. It was a beautiful game.
