I was really happy to see TCU win the game. Hats off to both teams for an entertaining bowl game. I was really impressed by the play of Wis OL players Gabe Carimi and John Moffitt. Would love to draft 1 or both if we get the chance.

The best thing about the TCU win is that it's a kick in the crotch to the BCS system...

TCU is the jilted bride at the altar...

I agree. TCU can now stand up and say we went 13-0 and no matter what the polls may say can make a legit claim as the National Champs. Hard to argue with a team who went undefeated.

^This^

Oh...and did that center from TCU look pretty good or what.

If no Wisniewski I would not mind the TCU center.

I only got to see certain parts of the game as I was busy with some stuff but when I would try to pay attention to the center he looked pretty good.

Wisconsin was the one jilted at the Rose Bowl alter. Everyone and their grandmother told them they had it in the bag. I guess not. I can't remember who it was, but it was some linemen for Wisconsin that was crying like a baby after that game. Where is that idiot athletics director from Ohio State now? :muttley:

Not everyone and their grandmother told them as I believe TCU was favored to win and they even talked about that during the game.

This was not a situation were nobody gave them a chance except their own fans.

Are you talking fans in here or are you talking media.

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...=o&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=a7bd6217041f008c

Or are you just talking of those in control of the BCS.

Not sure what you are getting at.

There have been instances in the past where some teams were not given a chance.

I remember all to well of WVU going against the Sooners and ESPN doing a poll of fans nationwide. Every state except WV had the Sooners winning.

I also remember seeing many media pundits claiming WVU would get killed and had no chance.

I remember similar circumstances with Boise State when they were going to play the sooners.

The TCU situation was much different. They were odds on favorites to win the game and were ranked higher.

Odds are figured by active bets for and against. TCU was I believe 1-2 point favorites. That just means more money was played on TCU than on Wisconsin. That doesn't exactly mean that more people bet on TCU. It just means more money was wagered on TCU.

My point was that Wisconsin is a BCS team and everyone in the BCS didn't think TCU could beat Wisconsin. I remember exactly why too. They said that TCUs defensive line would get mauled by the sheer size of Wisconsin's line. While TCU had some problems with their size, it obviously wasn't the mauling everyone predicted.

There was no question Wisconsin as a team thought they had this in the bag. You could see it on their faces and you could definitely see the sheer shock on their faces when it was over.

TCU went in favored by 3 heading into the game.

Read my post above. Odds aren't figured by numbers of people. It's figured by dollars bet.

TCU, the 13-0 runners-up. This should be yet another slap in the mouth to the people who defend the BCS by telling us we don't need playoffs because "every week in college football is a playoff game."

Well if every week is a playoff game, which team eliminated TCU?

Amen to that, but you know what?? Nothing will damper my pure joy over this..

Without question, this was the greatest season I've ever experienced as a TCU fan. I lived through some rough years with the late Jim Wacker and Pat Sullivan.. Lived through getting left in the cold in the SWC-Big 12 merger for Baylor. Saw a revival under Coach Fran, only for him to turn down a 10-year extension and leave for Alabama.. Lived high in the Tomlinson years, and in recent success in the Conference USA then Mountain West.. But this year.. It topped them all.

*** the BCS, you ain't raining on my parade.

Incidentally, if any of you DVR'd it and would be willing to burn this ol Frog a copy, I'd be eternally greatful.

I think I've got about half of it, though I don't have a capture card to get it off the DVR.

It appears they are serving crow in New Orleans right now. :muttley:

Wisconsin, after all, was the only team to beat Gee's Buckeyes this season. Reached by the New York Times' Pete Thamel on Saturday night, Gee said: “I’m going to New Orleans tomorrow [where Ohio State will play in the Sugar Bowl], and Antoine’s is a great restaurant. I think they serve crow, and I’ll be eating my portion of that. TCU played a great game, and they deserved to be recognized for that. Obviously, TCU is a great ball team.”

I am not too impressed with TCU's win. Big deal, they beat a team from the most overrated conference.

Congrats to TCU!!

Wisconsin had been really dominating their league the last half of the season, as I think they were winning by and average of 35+. They were big and powerful and TCU beat them. Nice work!

In either case, for what seems like the 100th time in a row, the NCAA will not crown a true National Champion in only one of it's dozens of sports---and it so happens that it is it's biggest sport too.

I'm not saying Auburn and Oregon are not the two best--and I even supect they might be the last two standing in a playoff--but nobody really knows one way or the other. There's also a chance the last two standing could have been Auburn and Alabama...hehe.

Someday they'll settle this thing on the field with at least 8 (and maybe up to 16) teams. Four teams will not be enough. Until then, it's all for show.
