For years we have complained about the lack of depth on this team. For years we have watched our backups be dominated by other teams backups. It’s because the team has been way way way too top heavy. When the top 5 guys on your team are eating up 75% of the cap you have to fill the rest of the squad with minimum contracts. Trading Micah helps build the middle of the roster. Football is a game of attrition. You better be able to withstand injuries. Now we can.
Of course none of this matters if big and little just pocket the savings. But in theory this is a good move.
 
Lloyd and Harry cannot pocket two first-round picks. Time will tell if any long-term benefit of the picks (in my opinion) from this trade can pay off as sound, roster building upgrades.
