Hitchens is fine as long as he isn't up on the line and can flow. He's okay avoiding blocks on the move. Them bringing back Wilber over him at SAM says all I need to know.

This. Wilber's performance in 2015 was forgettable.

Honestly, not trying to argue with you just to argue. I think this discussion has gotten side tracked though. My bad.

My base argument is against your claim that re-signing Wilber is an indictment of Hitchens ability. I simply don't agree with that.

It's an indictment of his ability at SAM. Nothing more. I said he played much better off the line as he can avoid and take on blocks better. He's top notch depth and at least adequate at those two other spots although with the man/robber scheme I would like more speed.

I think we are ultimately in accord you just like Hitchens a bit better than I do. I do like him particularly for where he was drafted though.

Ok, we definitely lost something in translation. I agree with almost all of that.

I am comfortable going into the season with Hitchens as the starting MLB. I think he's earned a shot to see what he can do. He has the athleticism and the instincts. Even if they decide to keep McClain, which I would hate, I want them to move him to SAM. He can set the edge against a TE and is adequate playing those short zones.
