So, I've been a fan for a long time and, is it just me, or is this a level of trade and flurry not seen at Valley Ranch in some time?

The perspective is building Jason Garrett is not letting ANY stone go unturned and is all in. Front Office in harmony behind a clear philosophy and blueprint?

When has this level of activity last been seen?

2 off seasons ago, when we brought in Livings, Bernadeau, Connor and the one saving grace Carr.

Bringing in four bottom of roster guys equates to like, two moves to me. Bringing in Waters makes it all worth it though

Probably not since Jimmy Johnson in the early 90s

I think Garrett and Jones know the team cannot get away with going 8-8 again without changing head coaches, so they are more willing to make a few now moves than just build for the future.

Yeah - I'm not really talking about Free Agency, per se. But when's the last time we made THREE trades?

No, we made several more moves this year than than that year. In the last 4 days alone we have made 4 trades and signed Brian Waters and claimed Kyle Bosworth off waivers. That's more activity in 4 days than that whole offseason. The beginning post is onto something in the fact I think they know this team can be great and they don't want to leave anything unaccounted for. I would still like another corner, possibly bring Sterling Moore back but they have basically addressed everything we were complaining about and questioning.

The only now move was signing Waters, the trade with the Colts brings a guy in to try to help now but really is a future piece at 27 years old

The kid they got from the Colts is going to get playing time until Spencer gets back and if he outplays Selvie he will be in the rotation and get some snaps. That was a good move too. The bottom of the roster moves were to sure up special teams so I think they are good moves too. I like what they are doing.

Provided he is in shape to contribute and help the team, not if just to collect one big pay check

I'm not bashing the moves, I'm behind them, if our brass thinks that we can improve our roster at the cost of a future 7th rounder, I'm all for getting better, but it's not like just because we added two special teams guys that Jerry has turned over a new leaf

I know you weren't bashing the moves, I was just saying it looks like the FO has a plan for once, and for once I'm sitting here and enjoying and agreeing with the moves they are making.... Usually I'm puzzled by the stuff we do, or totally disagree with it.... I'm actually happy even about the bottom of the roster moves.

They worked him out this morning, if he wasn't in shape or didn't have the skills anymore they wouldn't have wrote a check for him to cash.... That's good news

I don't remember this many trades. Generally u hope to pick up these guys thru waivers. Doing it this way makes it certain. What's not being mentioned is hopefully how well the scouts et al are doing.

I would be much more stoked if one of those STers brought in was a stud returner. That is a ST area that has needed a playmaker for years.

Exactly... mad props to the scouting department for, hopefully, finding these diamonds in the rough. Equal props to the FO for making it happen.

All this does make me wonder: Are we bearing witness to the emergence of, for lack of a better name, the Dynamic Duo of Stephen Jones and Jason Garrett? If the FO and HC (JaJo?) are N'Sync, with a detailed and well thought out plan, over time that is just soooooo what we've been yearning for in Dallas. Don't want to break out the bubbly for what may be a statistical outlier of an offseason. But.... that said....Me likey. Me likey alot!

I like that they are not content with the lower 5 or so...thus, they have made the moves to get better there...ST was the biggest weakness of the pre-season and they possibly addressed it, and relatively cheaply

I was giving more credit to the scouts and Garrett. But you're right. Stephen should be at that table.

Like most of us I'm really happy how these last few days have played out. Waters really is the iceing on the cake. With the team also keeping Weems, we seem to have depth at guard and tackle. (All be it needs to develop). The one trepedation I still have is at D-tackle.
Boy, most off-seasons I feel good heading into the first game, this year I feel down right giddy. Frederick -A+, Escobar -if he can produce slowly (mainly redzone) I feel he's a futures pick. Same with most of this years draft, gives us good depth at most positions and their second year should be much better than this. And they will contribute this year ! Its good to feel that the Cowboys are on the upswing - one more good haul in next years draft, heavy on both trenches and we could see another dominant period for the Boys.
