I think Garrett makes those gametime decisions, not Phillips.
Regardless, they were probably wanting to ease Felix into the real games slowly. Hopefully we will see both of them in there together for a few plays each half and see Felix get a couple of his own series during the game.

you're probably right...i just hope that is the case. barber is some kinda fun to watch; but we've got to prolong his career...it looks like we selected the perfect complement to do just that (choice looks pretty darn good, too)...

MB3 had 19 touches and Felix Jones had 10(9 carries and 1 kickoff return).

Isnt that what we were kind of expecting this year with the distribution?

i don't think they were going to take him out until later in the game...felix only came in when barber was hurt. i'm lobbying for felix to come in more in the first half: change up the pace of the game...it'll give defenses fits; and it'll keep barber fresh to do what he does best: knock people 'til they squeak.

there will be many games that we need barber fresh in the 4th qtr...

Marion did not take that many hits yesterday I didn't think. We do need to give him a rest early in the game though so he stays fresh. You want him in at the end of a close game. If this game were close and he were still in in the 4th quarter he could have racked up close to 30 carries.

I've been clammoring for this all preseason with my buddies...Where's the screen pass?...Felix could thrive in this kind of play
