Dallas Cowboys

27. Connecticut DB Byron Jones
60. Nebraska DE Randy Gregory
91. Florida T/G Chaz Green
127. Minnesota ILB Damien Wilson
163. Purdue DE Ryan Russell
236. Wyoming LB Mark Nzeocha
243. Virginia Tech OT Laurence Gibson
246. Texas TE Geoff Swaim

Overview: Only time, of course, can tell how these players will pan out. I think it's worth noting that the Cowboys' draft heavily emphasized athleticism. Every single player here can be described as an above-average athlete for their size, while Jones, Gregory, Wilson, Russell, Nzeocha, and Gibson are all legitimate top-shelf movers. I think Dallas stole Jones and Gregory at their draft slots, before reaching a bit on Green. Wilson and Russell have starting potential down the road. On day three, the Cowboys sent a 2016 sixth-round pick to the 49ers in exchange for the pick used on Swaim, a proficient college blocker with tools-based upside. Like most everyone else, I wanted to see the Cowboys draft a running back. They repeatedly passed on the opportunity to select Boise State RB Jay Ajayi. Without a quality back currently on the roster, I'm skeptical Dallas will be able to continue playing "keepaway" at the dominant clip they did last season. With that said, I definitely think their roster improved with this draft.

Grade: B-

Obviously, I hope we hit on this pick.

But I would much rather have selected T.J. Clemmings instead.

Maybe it's more than the reported foot stress fracture, but it looks like the Vikings got an absolute steal with him in round 4.

As far as he fell, I think there must be some concern about whether he will play this season. That wouldn't help us if we need someone who can help us this year at swing tackle.

Cowboys wanted an OL who can practice right now with the 1s in OTAs and training camp, while Free is recovering from surgery. Based on Jerrys comments and the fact they were targeting OL early in the draft, it's possible they aren't confident in Free's ability to play 16 games this season.

Silva is one of my favorite people in the business. 24/7, 365 type guy who I follow on Twitter and who is constantly reviewing players. So with that said I think it's a very fair assessment.

Not at all mad at the assessment but I think the lack of RB is effecting it far too much.

Chaz Green strikes me much like Sean Lee or Bruce Carter as a tremendous athlete who was downgraded due to health.

I also think it'll be a while before I second guess the Dallas FO on an OL prospect.

At RB, Dallas believes it has 3 starting caliber players. RW, McFadden and Randle and they like Dunbar in a nickel role.

Agree on Green and also between our 3rd and 4th pick, 6 more OL were drafted. We will never know, but odds are he would not have made it to the 4th.

TJ Clemmings is the one guy I was hoping we wouldn't draft. He was absolutely horrible at the senior bowl especially one on one pass rushing drills. He got beat by anyone he faced and he got beat every way an olineman could, speed, power, inside and out.
