9. Cowboys - Alabama DE Marcell Dareus

A 6-foot-3, 306-pound bowling ball, Dareus left Alabama with 20 career tackles for loss and 11 sacks as essentially a one-year starter. While not a truly difference-making pass rusher, Dareus possesses rare quickness for a 3-4 end and can crash the pocket as a three-technique tackle on passing downs. Three of Dallas' top four defensive ends are free agents (Marcus Spears, Stephen Bowen, Jason Hatcher), so this is good value and fills a major need.

I'm not in love with any 3-4 DE at 9, but this pick makes a lot of sense.

The first thing Garrett mentioned is that he wants to be physical.

This is your guy.

On top of what he can do at DE, give him 1-2 years with Woicik and he could be a 320-330 NT.

I would compare him to Spears, bigger than Spears was in college and probably a little more disruptive and definitely nastier, whereas Spears was more of a high motor guy.

In Dallas, we move our NTs to DE, not the other way around. Thank you very much.

dareus is a good player but he isn't worth the 9th pick for us considering our other holes and current talent.

bowen is basically as good right now.

trade down is highly likely.

Bowen is as good Dareus?

We should just trade Bowen for #5 and take Peterson and Dareus.

Cowboys need to try to get this guy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQnHuoot5cs

For one, he's a pass-rusher
two, he's a force to be recon with
three, he's stout on the run
four, he's a game-changer
five, he dominates

or this guy

Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, Temple 6-5 #305

I will be physically sick if we pick either Dareous - C Jordan - Prince A at 9

I know Warren Sapp think Marcell Dareus is better than Fairley

I think Dareus is better too. So does Mike Mayock.

Fairley's awesome but Dareus has been doing it like this more than 1 season.

Finally some Dareus love.

Plus he played for Nick Saban who Jason Garrett holds in very high regard.

Just makes too much sense.
